10/10Power cut made the experience memorable. The staff made the extra effort in spite of the conditions and still provided great service. Great food as always. Looking forward to our next visit.

9/10It was really lovely, the only thing I would say,was the roasties weren't great and the gravy was too thin for my liking, but overall it was really lovely and hot( which you don't get very often in a carvery

2/10The room was so dirty, cobwebs and spiders in the corners. Uncleaned/dusted surfaces everything. Electric cable hanging through the window to an extension lead do you couldn't close the window and bed smelt musty. Didn't stay in room and didn't stay for a meal. ( only three star hygiene rating). Had to rush off to find alternative accommodation so couldn't even talk to anyone about as simply didn't have the time az it was after 7pm in evening.

10/10Cosy country pub with traditional aesthetic. Excellent service by welcoming staff. Outstanding food served promptly in generous portions. Friendly atmosphere among the patrons. Fantastic log fire lit during the winter. Highly recommend this pub for great food at a reasonable price, all served with a smile.

10/10Fantastic & friendly place to eat & unwind. Our meals were veggie lasagna & Hunter's chicken. Both were absolutely delicious & favourably priced. Anyone thinking of paying the Hunter's Moon a visit wil not be disappointed 👍👍👍👍😋

7.5/10Food was lovely and staff very helpful but they were very unsure and wouldn’t commit as to whether the food was dairy and Gluten free, which I felt was very poor. If your food is home cooked as suggested on the website they should know their menu and what their food contains so people who have allergies or intolerances to food can avoid them. It is very difficult to eat out when you have an issue with food and when you experience issues like this it puts you off from eating out.

10/10This pub was local to our fishing venue and it was a great addition to our week. The ambience was great as were the staff and food. The menu was a step up from the usual pub fare and every dish we tasted was superb, the price was not eye watering either.

5/10We have visited the pub previously when on holiday, and had a fantastic meal. This time however we were really quite disappointed. The pub was quite busy as it was 'bike night', we got some drinks and were shown to our table. The waitress who took our order was really friendly and helpful and was quick to take our order, she was attentive throughout the meal. The menu was slightly confusing with 2 different prices for every meal with no explanation as to why. We ordered starters and mains. The starters arrived after 30 minutes with an apology for the delay to to it being busy, which I understand can be a problem. The starters were appetising and we enjoyed them. We then waited another half an hour for the mains - again I have no issue with the time having worked in the hospitality restaurant previously, I understand delays happen. My issue was that when the food finally arrived, it was quite underwhelming. My husband had ordered steak medium rare - it was overcooked. Our meals although generous in portion size was luke warm which took away some of the enjoyment, but as we had waited so long, we ate it anyway. It was a real shame as our first visit as we were coming out of covid in July 2020 was excellent - overall disappointing.

3.5/10No one showed us to our prebooked table. they just pointed it out. Did request tabke by window (if possible) but was given one in the middle of the room. Food was not great. Pie meat very salty, veg dry and lacked flavour. My wife ordered chips but got mash. Had to stop the waitress to order refills of drinks. When we had finished our main course no one came to enquire if we wanted dessert, so we got menus ourselves but sfter waiting for over 10 minutes for service we gave up and just we to bar and paid the bill. Very disappointing. Won't be returning.

10/10The food is always excellent - lovely homemade pies - great to have a choice of mash and new potatoes - everybody seems to do only chips these days which doesnt always suit the meal - lovely vegetables instead of everything with chips and salad. Lovely deserts. Good menu choice - better than anywhere else I go. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend. Best around and I happily travel to go there.

10/10Not a local place for us but knew we would be driving past around Sunday lunch time . Greeted on arrival and drinks order taken very quickly . All opted for carvery and not disappointed . Meat lovely and tender ( beef slightly pink as I like it) so perfect, and a good generous portion Roasties fab, Overall a big well done , pity we don’t live closer ????????

9/10We have often driven past the Hunters Moon and decided to take dinner here on our way to Weymouth. At first glance the menu looked very ordinary with standard pub food on offer, the waitress was polite and explained the two price on each meal ( so you can choose small or medium portions) I opted for the steak and ale pie whilst my partner went for the 5 bean chilli… my pie was simply one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to eat, big hearty chunks of steak and a thick gravy, it was just delicious 10/10 my partners chilli had a BBQ taste to it that wasn’t quite to her liking and maybe could have had a bit more yogurt but that’s being picky. Big portions of excellent food, my sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was again perfect. I’m a very hard person to please but the Hunters Moon was a definite 10/10 Ps the beer was great too ????

9/10This was a brilliant find tucked away in NW Dorset. The menu was imaginative and wide-ranging giving us all an attractive choice ranging across meat ,fish and vegetarian. If one could manage it there was an interesting number of starters to supplement the main courses and desserts. The dishes were well put together and generous in the servings. Whilst not cheap, the pricing was fair for what was offered and we hope to return before too long.

9.5/10The menu had loads of options and was very varied. The meals were all lovely and it was a very friendly and welcoming place. One meal was served with items that we'd asked to be left off, but this was dealt with swiftly and efficiently so didn't cause an issue. Would definitely visit again.

10/10We were staying nearby and had been told about the pub. Really lovely pub with lots of character. Staff were very attentive. Food was superb, hot and fresh . We will go back when we are next in the area

10/10Always great food and a warm welcome at this establishment. Can get busy so don't expect food in minutes but it is well worth the wait. Out of busy times the wait is not long, food is always hot and great selection on the menu with daily specials.

10/10Outstanding food and service. A proper country pub with excellent food with an extensive menu. There is also a specials board and the curry, pie & dessert specials change weekly We will certainly be returning.
