4/10I have used this place for many years and always had good experiences, however on this occasion having been guided by the owner on what to eat we anticipated value for money. However for three popadoms, three mixed starters three curry dishes and a veg dish we were well and truly ripped off to the tune of £154 . I won’t be going again.

6/10Food was lovely, service was rushed, we were made to feel rushed, hadn’t finished starters and mains were served, moved tables to allow others in, far to busy all crammed together, didn’t even get enough time to finish our drinks.

7/10Food was excellent but, unfortunately, on a busy Saturday night, service was very rushed and, despite making a reservation in advance we were asked to vacate our table after an hour and fifteen minutes due to other customers waiting. Not impressed. We weren't told in advance we had limited time, if we had we maybe would have made different choices. That said, we would revisit as the food was that good.

10/10Excellent food and service, definitely going back when in Edinburgh again. Plenty of seating and room. Really friendly staff who are very helpful with service and recommendation of different foods

9.5/10Really glad we tried this place for the first time. Friendly staff, prompt service and really really tasty food. This is much more authentic than most Indian restaurants - you can taste the fresh spices and the depth of flavour in the food. Definitely recommend the tandoori lamb chops and, if you like something hotter, the Fish Punjabi Madras will make your taste buds dance.

2/10I have to say sadly this was the worst Indian meal I’ve had in my life and indeed the worst meal anywhere. Spent entire day as only there for one day from Essex choosing meal place. Hugely fancied Indian. The pictures on the wall before entry are nothing like what is served both in the bowls or the food so am doubtful it’s their photos. The onion bhajis were carrot pakora mushy and horrid especially when expecting a crispy onion you receive orange flat mush. The mint dip was potent and bitter I believe def off as sour. I’ve been eating prawn biryani since my teens now in my 50’s , it looked awful like somebody’s left overs (I found 7 tiny rock hard frozen prawns) I left it completely .. my companion had mushroom rice there were literally no mushrooms in there, he said he thought it was just white boiled till he discovered a few tiny tiny little pieces at the bottom. The Peshawari was fine as were the poppadoms (but who can get that wrong). His chicken passnda was standard no comment good or bad just filled a hole. Nothing was displayed nicely the bread was actually on the table not a plate. We rushed last minute to a show then checked bill at the hotel after as realised not way could what we had be £70. It was one drink each too. We checked website and FB page there were 3 differing pages 3 lots of prices and every one added up to £49 total. I mailed them when I returned to Essex to confirm I needed refund as we must have had another tables bill, email returned saying menu inside is not the same all the others are takeaway, this was not headed up as such. This is all false advertising both by the lovely displays and photos on the door and on 2 websites !!! And pricing for sure. Sadly worst meal paid hugely over the top for a dreadful meal, have never in my life left an eatery feeling hungry as couldn’t stomach the food. There was just far too much to complain about while we were there it was just pay and leave fast and get to our show. The final straw I feel was a takeaway pot being bought to our table with murky water and a dirty sponge to wipe the table before we finished our drink. I appreciate we all have different standards but having run food establishments for many years I feel to pay so high aswell for something so bad has to be mentioned. Were it one thing fine no need for a rough review but literally 98% of this experience was just the worst. Feel this family/company need to raise their game a) standard and presentation b) honesty in pricing and public info sites to be updated . Sadly not used to giving bad reviews but so disappointed at such a high price too for such an awful meal. Nice enough people and I’m sure others are perfectly happy with their local but feedback of all kinds in my experience also once in my role as a mystery shopper can only enhance and improve.

5/10I informed the restaurant of a dietary restriction when I made the reservation. I also reconfirmed the dietary restriction when I ordered. Unfortunately, every dish I ordered was served with small amounts of the substance. This could have been an honest mistake, but I did not receive an explanation for why I ordered plain white rice and instead received rice with small amounts of the substance. The host was polite and acknowledged his mistake, offering to reorder my dish (but not my companion’s dish, which we had wanted to share). Unfortunately, the new dish that appeared as a substitute was too salty and had a bitter aftertaste. In my humble opinion, the curries are mediocre. I did not my enjoy my meal.

10/10Very good service, and food was excellent. We had the Tandoori dinner for 2, and it was very tasty. Every dish was good and we enjoyed it. The lamb and chicken were both top notch. The mixed pakora plate was great. Staff very friendly. Would eat again!

Arrived on booking our Christmas day feast ,older host at the door was off and rude no warmth or welcoming no hello which wasn't very pleasant but each and everyone else of the staff was nice,food was wonderful and tasty had a great banquet, definitely need to sort out the man at the door he definitely puts you off setting foot into the Indian lounge he get 0 for being nice other staff get 8

7.5/10The staff were really welcoming, the food was delivered promptly and was good. I got a surprise when the bill came,as it was a lot higher than expected . Our curries were £9.99 instead of the expected £7.99, a service charge had been added and the discount from fork was missing. I mentioned the discount and this was deducted. I tried to deduct the service charge when I paid with my card but was unable to do this. I blame myself because I was enjoying my meal and really didn’t want to argue. I would recommend the food but be extra vigilant when you get the bill!

5/10Food was amazing but being rushed to finish up and leave after less than an hour, never mind before even finishing our meal, is piss poor service at best, downright calculated greed to maximise covers at worst. Either way, not worth spending your money on, no matter how good the food is

Amazing food, one of the best Indian restaurant in UK. Being an Indian I generally don’t eat Indian cuisine in restaurants as they are made as per British taste, I tried this because we were craving for good Indian food as being away. Loved every bit of it and there kadai paneer and dal was the best.
