This is my fourth time at JamRock, twice at the old location (which served amazing food, drinks and atmosphere) and now twice at the new location, after this visit I definitely won’t be returning. The rum punch tasted like sour diluted juice, no taste of rum or syrup present, not worth £10.50. Our meals tasted nothing authentic of Jamaican 🇯🇲. The meat and seafood was not “seasoned” the food was cooked bland “unseasoned” then smothered with sauce - unacceptable. I went to the restaurant at its new location when it first opened for my birthday (30 people) the food back then was good and tasty, since then the quality and taste has definitely reduced. The owner needs to concentrate on the standard and quality of food coming out of the kitchen and less time behind the DJ decks playing music. It’s seems like over time the focus has shifted from providing tasty authentic Jamaican food to alcohol and music.

Atmosphere was great, music excellent, service good, food not the best, the curry goat was waaaay to peppery, been here before for brunch and even ordered at home and loved it then times but this time at the brunch was too peppery to the point I had to leave it!

Overall experience and food was great and would definitely come back. Good vibes 😎 Though a suggestion for improvement would be for a Saturday there in my opinion should have had more staff. Why? Well had to wait too long for drinks. Only one person working the bar and if preparing drinks for more than table of guests meant a longer wait or not getting your drink at all. So another person behind the bar would be helpful. We also 3 people that we was dealing with so would be good if the staff had their own sections of the venue to take orders etc making the experience more personal. Though all staff was very friendly and polite and inviting. It would have been good to have the option to tip one staff member rather than none at all. Tunes were on point!🤪

The food was nice but the music was so loud that we had to shout over it to speak to each other and the waitress. Perhaps the restaurant should consider turning it down as it could be the cause of giving the other table our food ;-)

The roast Sunday meal is a very good deal, with generous portions and a drink included. The goat curry was slow cooked to perfection, with carrots and potatoes melting in your mouth, and the jerk chicken a nice mix of sweet and spicy. The veggies were a good surprise and the dumplings were superb. Declan, the waiter, gave us a warm welcome and it was a pleasure to chat with him. The music was not too loud, perfect for chilling. We'll be back!
