Kahani is a multi-awarded restaurant just off Sloane Square in Central London. Located in the basement of a period house, the access to the restaurant is somehow very little inviting, even though once the dining room is reached by a steep flight of stairs, the ambiance is not that bad. Where Kahani really excels is the food, both as far as quality and variety are concerned. The restaurant offers both a la carte menu as well as few set menus that sufficiently cover the expectation of a high-end Indian restaurant. Service is attentive and at the right speed while prices are rather on the expensive side, but match the excellent quality of the kitchen.

From the moment we entered the restaurant until we left we felt incredibly welcomed and the service was impeccable. The waiters were outstandingly friendly and accomodating yet not pushy. The food was of exceptional quality and made of fresh ingredients. The spices were combined very well and nothing was too spicy though it was all seasoned to the point. We enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere when more and more guests arrived. The front of the house staff were funny, helpful and fast without stressing or pushing it. Kahani will surely have us again and we are ready to be likewise overwhelmed. Thank you for everything.

Great restaurant, delicious food! The highlight of the meal was definitely the chargrilled broccoli, which tasted out of this world. We didn't try the tasting menu but honestly I think I would recommend it, as I would have loved to test more flavours. Service was impeccable, all the waiters were really friendly and helpful. It was just a bit expensive for the amount of food that we got, but we still had a splendid time.

Really nice place - had the 6 course taster and it was ok not great. Felt more like catering than restaurant food. The scallops underwhelming but the gunkne fowl combination good. I think it’s fair review for the price. Good to check it out but not worth a return visit.

Visited for lunch with my wife and opted for the bottomless brunch. While a few standout dishes like the beetroot cutlet, keema naan, and dessert hit the mark, the rest of the meal fell short. Many of the dishes lacked flavor and left us underwhelmed, which is surprising for a Michelin-starred restaurant. Unfortunately, both the food and service didn’t quite meet expectations this time. I’d love to give the place another shot to see if it was just an off day!

The food selection was good for all the guests. The wine selection was good. Some of my guests said that the food was quite spicy even though they asked for mild, I believe this is because the dishes are prepared up front which makes it difficult to adjust the spice level but this my own opinion. Overall still a good choice.

Kids unfriendly place. No kids after 7pm but kids unfriendly before 7pm although we had to change our reservation from 6pm to 5pm. We were asked (not requested) to take our kid outside for a walk as our autistic son was too noisy before 7pm. The birthday dinner was a disaster and we didn’t enjoy it all. All kids are little noisy just don’t allow if you can’t tolerate. The adults at 7pm were equally noisy. Didn’t see any customer bothered but the staff was continuously giving us looks and making us feel bad except one person At 18.50 we had our bill before we finished and after 2 mins there was a lady with card machine We had 4 course menu and it was our worst experience as compared to all Michelin star Indian restaurant we have been in London Starters were good 4/5 Mains were bad. Poor lamb curry. 1/5 Gulab jaman cheesecake was disaster 1/5 although the mango sorbet was good Chocolate dessert was better This food might be only good if you are not from Pakistan/Indian background

Really posh restaurant, quite attentive waiters that dont let you fill up your water but rip the bottle out of your hands to refill it themselves. Out of this world prices, really expensive, the food quality is passable. It's been a good try, though I can't honestly recommend this restaurant.

The Michelin tasting menu was outstanding from start to finish. I loved them all, but the smoke and dry spice on the scallop, the tandoori guineafowl, lamb chops, and chocolate delight desert were my favorites of the night. The cocktail menu had some very inventive drinks that worked well with the spice of the food. The staff was polished, professional and very helpful.
