10/10They took account of our food requirements and were happy to let us take our time. So, we tried several little pots of different teas. The food was also great. Overall, a lovely afternoon tea experience.

10/10Excellent service, Beautiful surroundings and lovely atmosphere. I would eat there every week if I could. The restaurants are very well designed and the atmosphere is so warm and inviting, especially with the cosy fireplace.

7.5/10Booked for a Birthday lunch for 1pm. Was immediately told they had run out of one of three starters. The soup starter changed from a Cauliflower to Celeriac last minute. The starter we all ended up having was the beetroot carpaccio which was very tasty. Had the roast chicken for main course, which was lovely, although could have done with a gravy on the side. One tiny piece broccoli - there should have been more green veg. The potato dauphinoise lovely! I initially made the booking online and followed up with a phone call the following day to ensure they had our booking for six ladies. When chatting with the bookings team, the lady I spoke with asked me for the spelling of our friends name (since I had mentioned it was our friend’s Birthday) I spelt out the letters to her over the phone, which she recorded and read out back to me - she said she’d let the kitchen team know. When our desserts arrived - not even a “Happy Birthday” or her plate or name anywhere, which was disappointing.

We change our menus to reflect the season so we are disappointed to read that you found both our winter menu and our Fish Friday menu boring but take on board your comments. 5.5/10Poor and rude greeting in the reception area. We had booked the festive menu and telephoned in advance to check all okay and if we needed to order in advance we were told we didn’t and when we arrived told we couldn’t have the festive meal. Despite there being a mention of a specials board on the menu we were told there wasn’t one there were no knives to cut the bread rolls which accompanied our soup and the rolls were meant to be sourdough and weren’t, Cauliflower cheese was served as seasonal vegetables!!! Very disappointing for a restaurant set in a lovely setting the waiter James tried his real best and the restaurant manager Annemarie owned the problem and has invited us back for a complimentary meal to try and restore our faith in the restaurant. Such a shame at this point I would not recommend.

6.5/10As our 3 year old grandson would say ' they have some learning to do'! Fantastic building and grounds. However food quality doesn't match. The presentation needs improvement. As we were being asked what we thought my two scoop ice cream arrived, each about the size of a walnut, sitting alone with no wafer or anything to make such a small sweet look appetising. We went home and promptly had something to eat! Ie they could easily do far better.

8.5/10Service was very slow , only people on the terrace had to go and find staff to order drinks: food took 40 minutes to be served, such a shame as we’d taken relatives as so happy on previous visit, there was only 1 other table occupied too. Such a beautiful place, quiet and decadent, hopefully this was a one off.

10/10Whenever we come here we are always warmly greeted. Kempton's is so friendly and the customer service is exceptional. We had drinks on the terrace before we went in to dine - a perfect way to start the weekend! The food was so well presented and delicious. The new menu has some great new dishes so we were spoilt for choice. Thank you Kempton's we will return soon.

10/10This restaurant boasts a stunning environment, exuding elegance both in its interior decor and garden design. The courtyard is impeccably maintained, clearly reflecting the considerable effort and thought put into it. The food is delicious. Service is exceptional; the staff is not only extremely polite but also very patient, making every guest feel valued and well-cared for. Overall, this is a highly recommended restaurant where the ambiance, food, and service all come together to create a wonderful dining experience.

5.5/10Very nice location, average food not representative of the price and poor service even though we were the only ones there for lunch. Lack of attention and follow through. Empty plates and glasses were left at the table and had to chase the waiter for a drink for my spouse. At the end we were even charged incorrectly. Feels like they have no focus on customers and good service. Might be because they feel like they have a captive audience and have no need to put the extra effort.

7.5/10The food is of very high quality! Great flavours and beautiful presentation! The service is not the best but that is because they don’t have enough people on service roles but they are all so lovely and sweet. I personally just think they need training on basic waiting table etiquette.

5.5/10A pleasant building which promised much. However the room lacked any atmosphere and was particularly quiet. The service whilst generally good was done in an almost silent way. The sorbet arrived and was just left on the table. We wondered what this was, but tried it and found it still very frozen. Only our knowledge of dining out enabled us to discerne what it was rather than being advised when it was deposited. The food generally was quite good but just delivered almost without the spoken word. This is a restaurant for local estate residents and not one that is trying to bring in outside eaters. Some but little attention was perceived and everything was done without much discourse. The room throughout was particularly quiet and it was almost like a resident dining room rather than an open restaurant setting. There were difficulties in teaching the restaurant which did not fit with the Google maps directions. Overall the meal was acceptable but the general ambience was one where anything more than basic service could be seen. Regrettably this is a restaurant we shall not return to because on a price basis there is much better to find in the local area.

10/10Thank you Kempton's, we had a very special afternoon. The afternoon tea was delicious. Freshly made sandwiches, scones and cakes with chilled Prosecco - all enjoyed in a stunning environment with excellent customer service. We highly recommend Kempton's and will return soon.

3.5/10We got married at this venue and wanted this to be a special place for us. Unfortunately there wasn’t enough staff and we waited ages for the food, which had to be sent back, because it was cold, when returned the fish was undercooked and bloody and was inedible.

4/10It was so disappointing, we married there 18 yrs ago and have been on other occasions since. This was our first visit since it changed, the bar is absolutely lovely, the refurb tastefully done but the food was really not on par. I had prawn bisque which had a very thick dark rim in the bowl, obviously from being microwaved or sat under heat lamp for too long, it came with 1 small whole slice of bread and melted butter (it was on the plate which was extremely hot). I also had to ask for a spoon. All other guests having soup were given rolls! My husband had mussels which were miniscule and so overcooked they were stuck to the shells, he had to ask for bread and there wasn't enough liquid either. We then ordered sea bass, the skin looked barely cooked and not all crispy but flesh was ridiculously overcooked and dry, there was a tiny amount of cold mash and the salsa was not a taste match for the fish. The carrots with cumin were OK but seemed to include grapefruit. I had requested a wine list, nobody came to take my wine order so I had to call a waitress over, there were only 5 or 6 other tables with guests and 3 waiting staff. We decided against dessert as we didn't feel we could trust it both in size and flavour The drive into the venue was awful due to construction work I was really quite sad.
