3/10We had booked a table for 2.00pm to celebrate my birthday with our son and his partner and were looking forward to a special occasion. It was a lovely sunny day and we enjoyed the drive to the King William as it is in a stunning location. However, the good weather had brought swarms of people out there and the pub was heaving. We had to queue at the bar to find out which was our table but when we got there we were told our table wasn't ready yet. No apology for this. They invited us to sit in a corner and told us our table would be ready as soon as possible, but gave us no indication of how long we would have to wait. We sat for about 25 minutes , along with another group who had been waiting even longer. Then we saw a group of 11 who had arrived and booked for 2.15pm ( later than us) and were horrified to see they were being ushered to several empty tables. At this point our son phoned to make another booking elsewhere and we told them at the bar we were leaving. No apology once again

We had a high number of visitors that day and despite the amazing efforts of the team we know our levels of service were compromised. 10/10Although we didn’t say when we booked the table, it was for my Mums special birthday, which was briefly mentioned when we arrived. It came as a complete surprise when after our deserts out came a brownie with a candle! It made her day! Thank you

9.5/10The food was lovely, there was a roaring fire, service was good but we were on a table for 4 that was really squeezed in and left very little elbow room!

7/10Classic pub food, which is refreshing. You know what you’re going to get.! Well cooked and very generous portions. Friendly staff. Classic pub setting. Beautiful surroundings and a gorgeous view in daylight.

4/10Its a very lovely pub but the day we came they had a issue with there oven so only had a small menu with not much choice plus was very cramped inside with so many tables

8/10Starters good, lovely prawn cocktail different from usual with a nice avocado addition & a very nice creamy mushroom starter both had some nice sourdough bread. Main course of turkey was good only hiccup was a delay in finding the cranberry sauce which while not t end of t world was a bit disappointing. The other was a goats cheese salad where the salad bit was too dry definitely in need of some dressing. Finished with very juicy Christmas pudding. Beer very good keg beer and a good mulled wine. Overall cost about what you'd expect for two 3 course meals and drinks. Overall good value,

10/10After a long walk in the countryside, this pub is the perfect place to refuel with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. The beautiful location with wonderful views, friendly staff, and good menu made this a truly memorable visit.

10/10Booked a birthday lunch today & had a small lunch size starter from the menu. There was lots of lovely choices on the menu & we enjoyed a glass of white wine which was also very nice. The food was lovely & full of flavour. Will definitely be coming back maybe for the sunday roast.

10/10We booked as it’s one of the few places open on a Monday evening. The bar staff were friendly and helpful, offering to set us by the open fire, and the food was amazing. A great find - we’ll definitely be back!

10/10The food was outstanding. I had the squid to start and then the sea bass that was cooked to absolute perfection. Followed by a scoop of blood orange sorbet and then a double espresso. The staff are absolutely lovely, so helpful and very friendly. I would highly recommend it! Amy

9.5/10Visited on a very busy Saturday lunchtime so the excellent staff were very busy and service as would be expected a little slow. However we had plenty of time so this was not a problem and the quality of the food more than made up for it. We loved this, our second visit and will definitely return (often). Thank you and well done to all the staff.

10/10The staff was welcoming, warm, friendly attentive and professional, and made sure everything san smoothly and was in order. The pub has a lovel atmosphere. The ambience was really good and nice and warm, makiing it the perfect place to relax and enjoy our dinner. I very much liked the way the restaurant was decorated. Last but not least, the cuisine. Each dish was expertly prepared and packed with flavour. Top marks in all categories. Very highly recommended. We will be back soon.

5.5/10We arrived on time and although had booked a certain table because of my cousins MS .. people were already sitting at that table .. there was a long delay for food which was warm .. then we had to ask for the desert menu and waited a further half hour for that to arrive.. we left just before 3.45.. .. it was busy but when you book a table you do expect a bit more effort..
