it was refreshing to have a different taste option to chose. Fun sticky rice, morish pork scratchings, tasty skewers were the fav. Has lots of potential just have to work out what is what on the menu.

Our first visit and we loved it. Great atmosphere, excellent staff and the food was amazing. Really fresh aromatic and delicious. We have found a new ‘must visit’ when we are in town.

having never had food from Laos we expected something spicy and fresh - Lao Cafe did not disappoint. Four delicious, fresh and zingy dishes appeared swiftly. Service was friendly, we left very satisfied and would definitely return.

Very glad to have come here and tried this place out and recommend you do the same! The hot pot was divine as was the pork shoulder. Ordered the papaya salad and upgraded and it said it would come with fresh vegetables but seem to come with pork scratching, bean sprouts and some form of sliced sausage. (Wish the menus had more detail on what was in dishes) For me the menu lacked vegetable options. But the meat was divine. The ambience was nice but the smell of either the fermented sausages or something else is very strong and was an unfamiliar and overwhelming smell for myself.

Food was good and the sour hot pot was lovely and sour but due to the pot it was served in, it went cold quite quickly. The pork sausages were great but the portion size is small for two and not enough to be shared (only two small-medium sized sausages). The sticky rice was served a bit cold. The jasmine tea I ordered was okay - I believe it should be served in a tall glass rather than as a separate cup and teapot. The tables are too small as is so this takes up unnecessary space and the tea becomes very bitter in the teapot after a while. In the colder months, the seating towards the door is not pleasant - it’s cramped and there’s a cold windy draft from the door. Thankfully the front of house staff allowed us to move closer in when we asked. Overall the food made up for the okay service and cramped seating. I would come back and enjoyed the food we ordered!

It was our first time enjoying Laos cuisine. It was absolutely delicious. We expected it to taste like Thai food, it was similar but had it own unique flavor. It was definitely a treat.

Food and services are disappointing. I might have a high hope to go to Lao Cafe with high expectations from the review. Pork neck BBQ was tasteless, Lao sausages were undercooked, even the ice coffee wasn’t great, no coffee taste in it. Service was unfriendly, all waiters and waitresses looked moody and can’t be bothered attitude, but service changed was included in the bill. Don’t go there, waste of money,

Average food. Came here on a Tuesday without a reservation and they turned me away. Table for one but they said absolutely no way. All booked. The placed smelled amazing so I booked for the next day and I was very disappointed. I had the papaya salad and a glass of their house white wine. I thought the salad lacked flavor, yet it was very spicy. So much so that I left half of it. The restaurant was quite busy so maybe I ordered the wrong thing.

Everything was excellent but the minute we sat down we were told the chefs were all going on break and we had to order immediately. Why take bookings at this time then? Was a bit annoying especially on a Sunday when we were looking to have a leisurely lunch.

Authentic tasty food and great atmosphere. Whilst sat at our table so many diners wanted to eat but had to be turned away! Very popular. Behind Charing Cross police station. I will be going again!
