Probably the best Indian fine dining in Birmingham, good size portions too. Great and pleasant team of waiters that made the visit memorable. Will be there again soon.
Had a lovely meal celebrating my Moms birthday. Staff were very attentive, food was excellent and we will definitely be returning. Special mention for the lovely gentleman who greets the parties.
This restaurant started off setting a high standard with complimentary gol gappas, the starter platter was nice but the mains were awful, definitely not traditional indian food. Lacked flavour and had not been cooked through. We ordered okra but it was just whole okra thrown in to a sauce , not the way traditional okra is cooked. The biryani was just over whelmed with the cashew nuts and raisons. Really ddnt enjoy our meal. This restaurant is ideal for those who dnt know how to cook and will eat anything,. Very disappointed
Really loved our first visit to lasan! Great atmosphere and the food was 10/10, service was friendly and relaxed, thanks for a lovely evening we will be back! X
We had an amazing meal. The food was superb, the service was fantastic. The restaurant has a really lovely atmosphere and we will definitely be returning!
We had been intending to eat at Lasan for several years and weren't disappointed. The quality of the food was exceptional and the service impeccable with a friendly manner. Looking forward to our return to try the tasting menu
This was our first visit to Lasan to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. It was fairly quiet considering it was a Saturday lunchtime however the staff were very attentive and welcoming. The decor was very stylish and tasteful and the food was exquisite and beautifully presented. Already planning our next visit
Lasan was lovely. We visited during COVID-19 and masks were used throughout the establishment (although a little sporadically which was a little concerning) by most of the staff. The food was exquisite and the service friendly and very helpful when looking for menu recommendations. My partner who had never done an Indian fine dining meal was wowed! Our only complaints were our after dinner cocktails, my partner due to the sweetness of their version of an expresso martini and mine due to the overwhelming mint flavour in my cocktail which I expected to only have a hint of fresh mint rather than mouth wash levels.... However, that may be done to personal taste. The restaurant were very accommodating of us which was appreciated as I had sprained my ankle earlier in the day and so had to alter our reservation. With all things accounted for, it was a wonderful experience with 10/10 food (the main reason we chose to go).
We were delighted both by the quality of then food and by the quality of service from the moment we arrived. One point was the ambiance which we found a little harsh and noisy (it may have been the clientele that evening, to be fair). The hard surfaces absorb very little sound. However, all three courses were appreciated, especially the scallop starter and the guinea-fowl main which was particularly tender and flavoursome.
The service was excellent and the food that we ordered were all very well presented. Each dish had an unique flavour and tasted very good. Would definitely come again!
Yesterday was my second visit to lasans having also booked there the day before with a different party. On the first trip the service was exceptional. I was underwhelmed by the crab starter but mains of sikander lamb and fondont for dessert made up for that. Yesterday's visit wasnt as great. The service started good however it took ages for the food to come out and we were starving. We had no updates or visits from the waitress either during this wait. Not long after finishing our meal we felt quite rushed and couldnt get rid of the waitress. The food was very underwhelming also suprisingly and so very disappointing. For mains we had the monkfish, the goat biryani and paneer nilgiri all of which were rather bland and the portion of monkfish was so small it left me hungry. The only dish we liked was the navratan lamb starter and Guinea fowl main. Sadly the experience put us off having dessert and another visit. I wanted the visit to be nice for my mums birthday but that wasn't the case. I'm sure the food will suit the pallat of some, however not us im afraid.
Food was absolutely delicious, hospitality was spectacular definitely coming back here again
The restaurant is beautiful inside very bright but also still allows for an intimate meal. The food i think was good but because of the price I don't think it was any better in taste than other good Indian. However, I would say they put a lot of effort into presentation. The only thing I found surprising was the vibe, for an Indian restaurant it didn't very Indian even the music was not but that wasn't a bad thing, just an observation.
Wow what a find- Fantastic food, tasted lovely and presented well. great Classy Deco And atmosphere (missed soft background music) excellent service, all very attentive, never an empty glass. Little pricey but worth it, a very special place. Highly recommend.
The food was absolutely outstanding. It was exceptionally tasty, a bit of a welcome ‘kick’ to it but also flavoursome. Would highly recommend the shared platter starter. Welcome was so friendly and staff knew their trade and couldn’t help more. I’m very enthusiastic about returning!
Beetroot halwa was awesome. Also the golgappa was spicy and hot. Ambience and Service were quite good. Naan and tandoori roti could have been better
Lovely experience in a nice setting trying the tasting menu. 10/10 for the lamb cutlet and halibut and the "mess" dessert was a fantastic way to end the meal
When we walked in everything was lovely however, once we had ordered and got our main we only got only two of the thin chapattis from thereafter it went downhill as we had to ask three times for our two other chapattis. We waited that long our chapattis our main was cold and my husband who never complains has to ask for the main to be heated in the microwave..... and then got charged full whack! That was disappointing!!!
A glorious sunny day made extra special by a truly stunning lunch. Great welcome , easy relaxed service by very knowledge staff. King prawn starter was to die for Both mains were tasty Okra was worth the visit by itself Will be returning soon without hesitation
What a fabulous find and well recommended the staff have got social distancing and safety perfected including a leaflet on arrival. The food was excellent. They still preserve an atmosphere well done everyone
