Excellent
Really enjoyable experience. Staff very at tentative. Good food. Great atmosphere. All my party enjoyed themselves and we plan to it all again.!
Lovely room, great food, great staff we had a lovely time
We were given a private room which was beautiful. Our server Sophie was very good also. Very pleasant afternoon- would definitely recommend
Beautiful room, food nice when arrived. Waitress had a bit of trouble understanding what white coffee was and we had to ask three times for water. She was a nice girl though and tried her best.
Everything was nice apart from spotting that a couple of glasses were quite dirty, and being honest the Welsh Rarebit was like a plain, dry & cold cheese on toast where it really should be served warm & freshly made. The scones were particularly nice :-) I'm useless with names however the girl who served us was really friendly & helpful.
We went for afternoon tea for mums birthday. On arrival we were taken aback by how accommodating everyone was and guided us to the tea room. Our server who unfortunately we didn’t get her name was so welcoming and went above and beyond for us. The tea room itself was really nice with the hand painted pictures on the wall. The afternoon tea its self was lovely and filling to the point we had to bring some of our desserts home as we didn’t want them to go to waste. There were many choices of teas and coffees which we really enjoyed. Overall we were very impressed with our experience and has to be one the best afternoon tea’s we have had, and we have been to quite a few!! We would highly recommend The Laura Ashley Tea Room.
Lovely Afternoon Tea as a Birthday treat with friends. Scones were beautiful and home-made! Plenty of Jam and Cream. And extra tea was available.
Absolutely stunning tearoom very helpful staff couldn’t do enough for you the afternoon was beautiful
Absolutely loved it. We had afternoon tea. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back in March
Friendly staff .. good service.. beautiful cakes and champagne .. very pleasant experience Need to repair the pot holes in the car park however.
The selection of food was lovely and delicious, the venue itself was absolutely amazing, staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would 100% visit again for afternoon tea.
Absolutely fantastic! The hotel itself oozes elegance and class. Felt very special. The tearoom was decorated wonderfully. Our waitress was great, we discussed both off our upcoming weddings which was lovely. Very attentive and quick service. Egg and cress sandwich’s were delicious as were the scones. Fresh, warm and plenty of cream and preserves.
Three of us had afternoon tea here recently and I would recommend it to others. The food was delicious and the tea room is beautifully done out. Unfortunately there was a staffing shortage on the day we were there and the service was dreadfully slow. It wouldn't put us off going again though as the food and the place were certainly good enough to want to go back. The manager apologised for the service and voluntarily took some money off the bill so we were happy when we left. It was reasonably priced for the quality and we were offered refills on the sandwiches but we really couldn't eat any more.
Perfect setting and very friendly staff. Food amazing, although when getting tea refills the same teapot was used and the strainer wasnt emptied so we ended up with a build up of tea leaves
When we arrived we found that the tea rooms are up three flights of stairs, so we struggled to get my 89 year old mother up there. The staff did offer to set up a table downstairs but it was my mother's birthday so it needed to be in a nice room. When we were seated, I noticed there were crumbs and a sugar cube on the floor, it obviously hadn't been hoovered from the guests before. The tables could perhaps be a little bigger as you struggle for room if there is four of you especially when the afternoon tea arrives. The food was lovely and my mum enjoyed herself though.
Seemed very easy to book online and confirmation email came through quickly. Hotel is set in a residential area and is a strange mixture of old and new building on a main road. It was a bit tricky to find and I had to phone them to explain we would be ten minutes late having got stuck on the main bypass. Plenty of car parking. The tea room was actually in the small down stairs restaurant that day, but was nicely presented and about half full. It turned out the tables were too small, and there was constant shuffling of pots, vases, cups, menus, plates etc. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful although seemed surprised that we had pre-booked the vegan afternoon tea. It took ten minutes for them to check what the chef could do. They couldn't do everything from the advertised menu, as they had no hummous. It then felt at least another fifteen minutes before we received any sandwiches and cakes. In the meantime we were served a variety of tea and coffee and a tiny pot of warm tomato soup, unusual. The food was nicely presented on a tiered stand when it arrived, but a couple of the white-wholemeal mix sandwiches were very plain, tasting like just margarine. The onion chutney ones were nice as was the cucumber and cheese. What was lacking was some 'filling' protein content and there are plenty of veggie pates available these days. Although they looked good one of the cakes tasted raw, and in fact all of the cakes I suspected had just been defrosted and were sticky or stodgy. The truffles were the best. My wife didn't like any of them. The scones were okay, a little crumbly and had just enough jam/coconut cream. They may have been better with some vegetable margarine as well. There was too much for the two of us so the staff provide a little box for your leftovers, and we had run out of time, having been there for an hour and a quarter, partly from the initial delay in sorting options but also us being ten minutes late. We didn't feel rushed by the staff though.
Fabulous tea room, brilliant tea and cakes.i am looking forward to doing this again.
My daughter and I loved the whole afternoon tea experience. Delicious food, beautiful interior setting, and exceptional waitress attention, without intrusion.
The room itself was very cold and too big for the amount of tables in it. The tea it self was very good but a wait of 30 minutes was excessive The scones were excellent
Service was very good apart from not having the option of white bread ,would have been nice to have been offered a top up with tea/ coffee after the food , also suffered with sore throat after smelling the smoke from the room next door through out the whole afternoon tea, didn't have the choice to sit up stairs as there was a party on
