Salad and chicken were really bland and the noodle were just like a bowl of snoot, soaked in uncooked eggs. Also loud reggeaton is not necessarily what you're expecting in a Malaysian restaurant. Overall just not a nice experience. But it was pretty cheap and service was fast and portions pretty large.
A hidden gem! The food was good overall although it lacks the malaysian kick, but more to cater for the Mat Salleh's taste bud. Staff are friendly and very welcoming. The tables are sanitised well. Will come back!
Food was good but the service was terrible. I booked the reservation online when I got there I told the staff I have a reservation online but he told me they don’t take reservation online and walked away completely ignored me. I wait for another 10 min and asked another staff for help finally he got me a table. When we finished our starter no one clear the table but still carry on main course coz the table is full of plates. The service is definitely needs to be improved coz they do charge for service and I won’t mind to pay but they have to do their job.
Despite making a booking, the restaurant didn't have a table ready for us upon arrival. The downstairs staff sent us upstairs, and then the upstairs staff sent us back downstairs. After we were seated, we ordered fairly quickly, but then proceeded to wait over an hour for our food. The server kept telling us it was coming soon, but it never came and we ultimately left. I ordered the traditional laksa, which I would expect only takes 5-10 minutes to prepare given its the signature dish at the restaurant. Highly disappointing and nothing was done to make the situation any better. Meanwhile we watched other customers around us who arrived later get their food.
The food here is lovely but I didn’t enjoy my experience on a Saturday night as we were sat upstairs and we were unaware there is karaoke going on and we couldn’t hear each other speak. There were no tables available downstairs so they turned the music down. Lots of drunks about. I’ll go back but during the day or in the evening during the week.
A booking was made for 4 people when we arrive - a party of 5 (with no booking) was seated before us with and we were pushed onto outdoor small round tables that were wet from being outside. NO social distancing measures in place and the table of 5 was almost on top of our table of 4. Pointed out the issue to the staff who said it was our problem so in fear of our own health and safety in a cramped poorly ventilated environment and with wet seating we left. I’m sorry but I will NEVER EVER return.
Had the beef satay, lemongrass crispy chicken nasi lemak and traditional laksa; they were all delicious. Staff were very friendly and attended to all our requests.
The menu had everything I wanted and it was tricky deciding on which dishes to go for. Definitely a case of “eyes bigger than stomach”! In the end, we went for the mee goreng, char kway teow and assam laksa. they were all fantastic! I was a little nervous about the assam laksa as it’s hard to get it right but this hit the spot. ditto the char kway teow which had “wok-hei” (if you know, you know!). Can’t wait to come back again to try the nasi lemak and regular laksa ????????
