Visited Le Gothique for first time for lunch with the Fork offer , amazing building and history , the food was good and very friendly staff, only people eating on a Thursday lunchtime which was a shame , a bit of a hidden treasure worth a visit

Disappointing service. Took ages from when we sat down to when waitress came to take the order. It happened the same after we asked for the bill and had to go downstairs to ask for it because we had to go. We had the duck and the meat was lovely but the Dauphinoise potatoes were very hard and tasteless. The chocolate fondant was nice but not different to the ones you can buy in any supermarket. I assume they are restricted on decor due to conservations laws, but it looked unkept and tired. Furniture was tired and some lighting didn’t work. It has such a great potential! Seems a waste. Bathrooms could be made more luxurious maybe adding better products and the odd plant or flower. It felt like I was actually using the bathrooms of the old Victorian orphanage that it was.

Food was too salty, one 1.5 server for the whole night (Saturday), tried to catch the attention of the server quite a few times but unsuccessful. Server not knowledgeable on ingredients or prices

Wonderful setting, so was a real shame how quiet it was. (Only 3 tables full) Service great and wine was well priced. Starters were great (duck rillettes & burrata) Mains weren’t good: -Steak was full of sinew and tough. Paying £28 for it was very disappointing. -seabass was fine, but wasn’t as good as you’d expect it to be. I hope it was an off night, as would like to come back due to nice service, and the lovely setting.

We had a lovely supper here, sitting outside in the courtyard on a very balmy evening. I have lived in the area for 20+ years and had no idea this firmer Victorian asylum was here but it’s a spectacular backdrop to an al fresco event The supper was great - relaxed pace, chilled atmosphere, tasty plates The one thing I would change is the smoking - because this is a courtyard garden cigarette smoke lingers which isn’t great for the non-smokers eating

The perfect definition of a hidden gem. After finding the entrance through a courtyard of an amazing character building, we were surprised by this unique venue. We sat outside under cover and had the option of a heater when it got a little cooler. The food was exceptional and the three courses were all brilliant. Really amazing experience.

Despite being just next door to us, this is the first time we went. It did not disappoint. We had duck, lamp, gnocchi and dessert were realy good. We will definetely go again

Loved every second. The staff was attentive, polite, good humoured and knew the dishes. The food was incredible. The setting is entirely unique and it's one of my favourite quirky spots in London. Thank you for having us!

Waiter very pleasant and helpful. Both lamb and duck very tender and flavoursome, vegetable sides perfectly cooked. Beautiful surroundings. Very quiet at midweek lunchtime. Nevertheless a very enjoyable meal. Extremely good value booked on Fork app.

Good place. Hidden from general public in a historic building. Only 2 tables Saturday lunch time thus a bit lack of vibe, but real treasure for those who hate Chelsea style brunch madness. Good attentive service. White table cloths french setup. Delicious onion soup, We have ordered duck and sirloin. Duck is highly recommended.

Great location - the quiet court of an ancient building surrounded by trees. Excellent French food and nearly spotless service. Great for the summer as there is a large and lovely garden for eating outdoors. The indoor space, however, looks a bit run down. The bar and eating area share the same space so if you dine indoors it feels a bit odd - fine French dining with all the frills but with the backdrop and audience of a pub.

A hidden gem indeed in this iconic Victorian building. If you're looking for a gastronomic experience in a modern Michelin star restaurant, then it certainly is not the place. But if you are looking for a different experience to soak up the feel of an iconic 150 year old building with a characterful past, in a mix of Bistro/Pub, with a beautiful terrace for al fresco romantic dinner that may be the place. The food is o and well priced, selection of wine is limited but perfectly adequate for the place, the staff are great and service excellent. We actually really like it: it is different and will be back.
