One of my favourite places to go for good food in a very laidback atmosphere. Feels like I’m back in a France every time we go. Everything is always so fresh and delicious, I can’t fault it.

Very surprised by all the positive reviews. Maybe it's people who have been going there for ages? Either way, we were treated well but ended up paying £45 per head for underwhelming food, in a dirty setting. THE FOOD We ordered two entrées (onion soup and scallops with beans) and two mains (steak au poivre and pork with plums). The soup was watery and quite bland. The scallops dish was tasty but some of the scallops didn't taste fresh. The mains were better, but bang average - apart from the roast potatoes which were very good, creamy and herby. In general, the food felt overpriced for what it was. THE AMBIANCE Very tired decor (both inside and outside), but not in a quirky old-school way - it was a bit depressing actually (or kinda funny, depending on your outlook on life). The place was not clean, especially the bathroom. We could see into the kitchen and they had a really old fridge.

Family run business, simple but very tasty dishes. Everything is freshly prepared and well seasoned. The lamb was slow cooked for 6 hours so it was really tender. Good portion also. Highly recommend!

The food was absolutely delicious. It is a while that I and friends had eaten out at a French restaurant . I had read the previous reviews and they were spot on regarding the food. I had lived in France for a year and travelled there often on holiday and the food reminded me of the small family run restaurants I used to eat in, cosy, relaxed and wonderful food.

We have not been to this restaurant for some time so we're pleased it is as good as ever. The inside is pretty old fashioned but very like a typical French bistro. The food, wine and service were excellent and typically french. We'll definitely be back.

The food was superb and the service was excellent too — table water serviced straight away to give time for the menu to be studied warm bread service whilst the starter is prepared
