All staff members were very professional and friendly, although one of the members could not answer some questions about some dishes in the Menu, which was weird to say the least, as she works there! Food is of really good quality, and the wines we chose were really nice too. The main issue is that at Malmaison, on a Thursday evening, they have 50% off on 4 different steaks, but they come with no sides or even a sauce, therefore when you add up the extras it is no longer a 50% discount that you are getting, isn't it? 25% at the best. I guess this is what the French called an "escamotage": not sure if ever going back.

The food was excellent and the service was exceptional and I would like to highlight the waitress that was working on the evening of Saturday 3rd August 2024. She was helpful, professional, engaging and obliging and a credit to the restaurant.

Steak was cooked to perfection, I especially enjoyed the peppercorn sauce with my chips, probably the best peppercorn sauce I’ve ever had! So creamy 😍 if you’re a whiskey drinker make sure to try the Balblair 14yr it’s outstanding 👌

We were initially sat near the entrance door but moved 2 tables away when we complained about the cold. Not much improvement noticed with a chilling arctic draught - a double door or overhead fan is required asap to eliminate this . The food and service was average - nothing to rave about but the meal was edible.

It was friendly however not much food choices for dinner so quite disappointed. Mash potatoes had no taste and no grilled chicken at all. They only had steak which I don't like. More options of grilled meat would be great! A little overpriced for cocktails and they weren't that tasty.

There were multiple items not available on the menu, some advised to us prior to ordering, other items later advised would be missing from meals. The wine ordered ran out. Service was good, but for the price I would expect better in terms of product availability

My booking got cancelled and I couldn’t get through for about 25 mins on the phone only to be told it was a double booking. We ordered the roast potato’s and they were anaemic, sent these back twice and they came out worse and we were told it was the lighting in the restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money.

We booked a table at 12 to be told the restaurant didn’t open until 12:30, so were asked to sit in the bar. We had to ask for the special lunch menu - it was not offered. There were many items not available. Was told there was one steak left so we ordered that one. About 15-20 mins later was then advised it had already been sold so had to re-choose. We ordered fries as a side but had to ask for those after the mains had arrived. But, when the food did arrive, it was delicious!

Brilliant service, friendly and attentive. Ok food. The chocolate tart was delicious but the slow cooked beef main was a bit sloppily reheated. Edible but meh. Great people watching and I’d go again, but next time I’d trust my instinct and just have a steak.

2x 45 pound steaks came over cooked (twice) seemed like they didn’t really care too much and the chef was overworked or clears can’t cook a rare steak.
