The food was delicious and the service was good. The portions were also good. We went on one of the 50% off offers from the fork and of if I am honest I think the food was priced pretty top end £18 for a quarter crispy duck I think is quite high so I was left thinking maybe there was a price increase to compensate for the 50% off food. Also as a heads up the discount is only on the food.

We enjoyed our first visit to Mandarin. Food was OK but not brilliant. Pleasant and attentive staff. Value OK but only with Fork Offer, otherwise expensive. Surprised that there was no dessert menu.

We went to the restaurant to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The drinks were served quickly and were freshly prepared and the first course was served quickly. Then the service ground to a halt. We waited more than an hour for the second course and it was not hot when it arrived. The restaurant was busy so I wonder if the slow service was due to under staffing? We had booked a table for 8 but should a bigger party mean worse service? That is certainly how we felt about it.

It came across as if the chef couldn’t be bothered! Starters: veg lettuce wrap…the lettuce was “dead”. Like soft wet tissue. Ordered aubergine in sea spice sauce. There was 2/3 slices of aubergine!! Was full of onions and bean sprouts. Too much vinegar in it :((

Starters were nice. Mains, one of which was a seafood black bean sizzler was burnt. It smelt burnt, looked and tasted burnt. Sadly I was told this is what the dish is supposed to be like. I strongly disagree, and was disappointed at the explanation having eaten this dish at various other establishments. My friend who had a duck sizzler was lucky to have enjoyed her dish. A simple apology would have been acceptable.

we did put message on app to say is first visit, which never got noticed , they only had one large table and our table of 3, it took 55 mins for starters which is longest from any Chinese restaurants we been, also had to wait as only one person serving and other looked like she was new , on top they charged service charge , did not ask if anything or wrong or even how was your experience nothing . first and last time , not great experience

Lived in the area over 25 years and never been so thought we’d try it. So pleasantly surprised. Food was really tasty and the service was very good. Only downfall was that is was quite cold in the restaurant. Other than that we had a super evening and will definitely go back again.

we arrived at 7:30 and the restaurant was empty. It's own by a nice Nepalese lady but when I looked at the menu it's western Chinese.. I was expecting authentic Chinese. I asked about the sizzling dishes sauces asking what it was made of and where in china it was from. the owner could not tell said it's English. I cook alot of authentic Chinese food at home and have many Chinese friends. the food was a. little oily and two dishes tasted like they had the same sauce. Don't order the Char Sui BBQ not traditional too much hoisin sauce just added on top. I've cooked char Sui before. There is only one type of Char Sui the fact she's asking if I wanted honey or BBQ should have rang slatm bells. We left at 9pm and between that time there was only one other table. all other restaurants in the area were packed.
