Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill - Cardiff

Different. Intimate funky furniture and lighting gives the dining and bar areas a real atmosphere. Food good . Would recommend. Service also good.

12.12.20. Fillet steak ordered medium, it came back between blue and rare, sent back. Ribeye steak - never have I had to cut so much fat/sinew/gristle off a steak. Waiter did not write anything down. Ask for no tomatoes, as I hate them, yep! tomatoes on top of the steak. Chocolate mousse was very runny. 13.12.20. Different waiters, massive difference, order written down. Menu explained. Burger was gorgeous, chicken just as nice. Sticky toffee pudding was fab.

Great restaurant,lovely staff.. attentive but not overly so. Fantastic food although we were disappointed the scotch egg starter was unavailable. The steak was superb,for a rump it was very impressive. Juicy and tasty,cooked to perfection. Onion soup was absolutely delicious, perfect on a cold winter afternoon. A lovely chilled atmosphere, thoroughly enjoyed and will return. Many thanks.

Great day service and welcome was excellent and the food delicious I would highly recommend this restaurant it is one of my favourites in cardiff. the room decor music and cleanliness were simply perfect

So disappointed with whole experience food overpriced and underwhelming £75 meal for 2 (starters and main) expected more quality in food and surroundings moved from near kitchen as couldn’t hear myself speak over clutter of kitchen and cutlery being cleaned never go again ..MPW shameful..staff on table Service helpful I never write a review if going to be negative but came away so so disappointed Needed to write this one...

I have been to this restaurant a number of times and the food and service has always been excellent. The fish cake I had today was full of salmon and probably the best fish cake I have ever had. By friends were equally happy with their meals. My only complaint I would have about this restaurant is the toilets. The flushes are automatic and flush a bit randomly- not always when you want them to! Other than that it is a very luxurious facility with good quality soaps and hand creams.

On my first visit, I ordered a medium rare steak, what a disappointing steak, it was all fat and grisly, on complaining the waiter very condescendingly implied i didn't know that " of course a rump steak should be med to well done for it to be at it's best " !!!! I smiled sweetly because I'm no teenager and I have fine dined with the best, I was very disappointed with he's manner I will never go back. He needs some training on people skills, and cuatomer service.

We were expecting something really special which would reflect the high prices, but we were very disappointed as the food was not of the standard we hoped for. The prawn cocktail was very ordinary and came with white sliced bread and my fish and chips were very greasy

Very disappointing selection of vegetarian dishes. Generally, the food was very basic and overpriced. Cocktails were good but we will not be returning.

We have been to MPW on a number of occasions in the past and have been more that pleased, but today the service was pretty poor (waited nearly 30 mins for our meal) considering the place was almost empty. My wife was told 10 minutes after ordering that her choice of meal was unavailable (Cod & Chips!!!) She reluctantly reordered. When the food arrived it was no more that mediocre. The price we were charged for what we had was grossly exhorbitant to say the least. As you may have already guessed, we will not be returning very soon. My advice would be give Marco Pierre Whites in Cardiff a wide berth.

Took 2 hours to serve a 2 course meal - not enough food on the plate also tepid - will not be coming here again as it was not a very good experience.

Lovely restaurant with excellent service. Food was delicious. Felt very safe in these strange times. Will definitely book again. Thank you MPW!

Our server Alex was just lovely. Food was great. Not sure about paying £5 for a jug or water but overall it was a nice treat

Fantastic staff and meal-what a find!The steak,chips onion rings were unbelievable-so delicious.The restaurant is very chic and really is a special place to go to.Will definitely return.

We were running really late, we called and they were so understanding our waitress was so lovley had such a nice eve would definitely go back for another meal as the food was so good

Was really looking forward to our first visit to Marco Pierre restaurant but sadly was very disappointed. The restaurant was very quiet but we were given a table opposite the drink/glasses fridge so every server passed along side us. I asked if we could be moved which we were but we’re put under the air con so could feel a cold draft. The meal we had again was disappointing. I ordered the fish cake for my main dish but was told that the batch wasn’t ready so was offered the fish and chips. The fish was so greasy and was sat on top of the chips so they were also greasy. I should have complained straight away but as I’d already asked to be moved I felt that this wouldn’t be appropriate. My husband ordered the steak but although ok wasn’t great. No one asked if we enjoyed the meal and we had to ask for vinegar twice before it arrived. I don’t usually post bad reviews but as you asked...

Nice, cosy, great and polite service. Too bad a lot of starters and mains ran out but can’t really blame the restaurants as lockdown looming so I can understand not much delivered to the restaurant. Good quality food nonetheless.

Great welcome, settings were lovely, great view from balcony. Main meal was disappointing I had pork escalope which was fried and dry to taste, side salad was nice.

Food was good. Service was excellent friendly welcoming and helpful. Made for an excellent Sunday roast! Great view of Cardiff on the balcony aswell!
