We loved it. Very tastefully fitted out restaurant and a nice subdued ambience. The food was fantastic in terms of taste and presentation; all perfectly cooked. BUT They forgot our main course! We waited nearly an hour after finishing starters before asking its whereabouts. To their credit, they immediately admitted their mistake and the manager came over herself to tell us. And she said we wouldn't have to pay for the meal. We thought that meant the main course but when we were ready to leave and tried to pay it turned out they'd cleared off the whole account. They made the best of a difficult situation. It's very pricey: prepare yourself for London prices in provincial Midlands but for a (very) special occasion, I don't think there's anywhere locally that can compare for quality & atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
Varied menu available. Cocktails - espresso martini was nice. Porn star martini was very sour. Starter of prawn cocktail - very simple but nice. Shrimps in Marie Rose sauce, on a lot of shredded lettuce. With 4 triangles of brown bread and butter. Main of filet of steak with L'Escargot and sirloin steak with garlic prawns - both steaks cooked well and well rested, Chips well cooked. Mushrooms fricassee was good. Garlic prawns were overcooked, butter burnt and garlic overwhelming. Unpleasant to eat so were left. Service was beyond poor - an hour waiting between starter and main. Offered a complementary drink due to our long wait - took 45 minutes to arrive. Once main course was finished, offered the dessert menu - after 45 minutes waiting for our dessert order we gave up waiting and ended our evening. Other tables next to us were receiving far more attention from the waiter and waitresses.
Despite weeks of trying to book and only being able to get 7.30 sitting the place was empty. My food was lovely as freshly made but my partner had the burger that was sent back twice as shockingly poor quality , in the end he went without food that had been pre paid as it was that bad, no alternative offered. We were informed the burgers they buy in which is not what u expect from such a brand. However the cheesecake was amazing
The experience was as to be expected. Although the food was of a diabolically poor standard considering the price. Ordered steak and chips. Chips were greasy and tasted like cooked from frozen. Steak was dry and tasteless. Puddings were definitely microwaved. Appalling quality of food considering the bill. Hope improvements are made.
Me and my girlfriends anniversary. The food took a while and is a little pricey for what you get. However the service was good and the food was very tasty. One of the waiters was amazing for us and so friendly. I couldn’t catch his name but he was a big guy and so nice. Thankyou to that man you made our night better.
Nice restaurant and good food. Our friends that we were dining with were delayed due to an accident on the M6 causing a traffic jam. The staff were happy to put back the time for an hour on request. The only slightly negative comment was that I had a Prawn Cocktail that was very nice, but lightly dressed with shredded egg on top. I found it odd to have shredded egg on a prawn cocktail (i don't usually eat eggs), but other than that, all of our food was very good. Some of the wines listed were not available. The first two we asked for they had no stock of. What we eventually chose was fine.
Food was not very hot what in fact would say it was on the verge of being lukewarm or seated at table when pulled the seats out was dirty floor didn't look like it had been mocked or hoovered for a day or two to at the end of the meal at asked for a coffee and was presented with a Costa Coffee such a prestige restaurant serving High Street coffee unexpected a lot better service from such a prestige restaurant staff were friendly and polite food tasting ok if a little cold chips which I was served with my steak was overcooked greasy empty shells wasn't what I was expecting from a Marco Pierre White restaurant very poor can't believe a restaurant of this calibre only has a toilet also shared with the hotel is situated within in 5 minutes walk to find the toilet also very poor or not very clean
Booking was easy. Service was very, very slow. Food was ok when we finally got it.
Whole exeperience Superb
Very disappointed, really expensive my wife had fish and chips and they was really greasy and we was overcharged for our drinks, we had 3 drinks and was charged for 5 until I said something, my wife’s starter didn’t come out with mine we had to ask for it and I paid £10.50 for a fried scotch egg, I ordered a burger that should have had bacon on it and it didn’t have any when it arrived Overall very expensive and disappointing I wouldn’t eat here again
Our visit was very disappointing. Whilst the food was nice when it finally arrived, the staff were very junior and inexperienced. The person who took our order forgot to put it through and we ended up waiting an hour between our starters and main course. With three young children at our table, this created tension and tired children. After we chased, the food arrived at very different times. First two of the children’s meals and then one adult meal and ten minutes later the rest. The staff were not at all attentive and we had to flag them down on a number of occasions simply to get some more water. Apologies for the complaint, the food was very good but the overall experience was let down by the service.
Very nice experience all in all. Nice prompt staff . We had starters .lovely , steaks were ribeye and sorry to say a little sttringy , pudding lovely . Would return
Food, Wine and Service were extremely good, I’d definitely take my misses there again!!
Went here a couple of years ago and was sadly disappointed. Anyway after winning a £100.00 gift voucher for this restaurant I had nothing to lose to pay another visit. I have to say a completely different experience. Food was excellent and staff very friendly. It wasn't over busy either so made for a very pleasant experience. A bit pricey but if you don't mind paying for that little bit extra then definitely worth it.
