Excellent
Wonderful setting, extremely helpful and pleasant staff. Food was fantastic as were the drinks. All very ‘COVID compliant’ and a calm but enjoyable atmosphere throughout. Highly recommend.
Lovely place nice views, very good covid restrictions and the food was lovely. Fillet steak cooked perfectly and fantastic table service would go again!
The atmosphere and service were excellent. The food was fine and well presented, but I expected slightly higher quality. Overall, Ienjoyed the experience.
Beautiful setting overlooking Plymouth Hoe, friendly service in safe surroundings, great lunch menu with tasty food, very enjoyable lunch.
Excellent service from start to finish, really well looked after. Food was amazing, although our steaks were a little over done, they still tasted amazing so didn’t complain. Cocktails were great too.
The food and service was outstanding, our server Miss Merete was not only very attentive but extremely knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. My wife and I, will certainly be back very soon.
Eating tasty food overlooking the Hoe is such a fabulous experience.
Friendly and helpful staff, lovely setting and the food was really good. We couldn’t believe the different flavours we were tasting. We will definitely come back again. Thank you !
We arrived at a busy time and had a short wait before being seated. From our table we had a beautiful view of the Hoe. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was well presented and was sufficient for both of us. A selection of sandwiches including cucumber, smoked salmon and ham and mustard. We also had brownies, cheesecake and a coffee sponge/tiramisu, scones, jam and clotted cream. We also had a pot of tea each. It was a leisurely experience and we never felt rushed at any time.
Beautiful restaurant in a wonderful setting, low well thought music and great lighting helped set what was a romantic date for us. The food was exceptional, and the service very fast and efficient. The .5 off the 10 was purely the waitress who served our starter and drinks was already walking away from the table when asking if all was well, whereas the waiter who served us didn’t want to interrupt and waited for a response and seemed genuinely interested in our experience being a great one. We will definitely return
Staff were very welcoming and attentive, the service was quick and with just the right amount of "everything ok, do you need anything else" questions. Food was divine, best steak I've had for as long as I can remember. We will be back.
Brilliant food, we had afternoon tea! But little to no service was provided, staff were not attentive at all. Despite the lack of service there was still a hefty service charge come the end which we disputed. We were bluntly asked why we wanted to remove it which we found rude. A service charge is optional, had the staff provided a service maybe we would have considered one. Whilst we were there there were a number of staff wearing gloves, however, for the 2 hours we were there I don’t believe they were changed. This would not help combat the spread of COVID.
The staff where very friendly and helpful The Afternoon tea for my Auntie 90th birthday was amazing, after not being able to have it in March due to lockdown Will definitely be returning
Food was really good. Ordered bread and the main courses were served before the bread arrived. Service ok but lacked any interest in us or the fact the bread wasn't served to us at the correct time.
Loved our experience. The staff were so attentive and really friendly. Food was amazing. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back!
Very good value for money, food was excellent, just like the service, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Returned the following night again due to the service we received.
We ordered two onion soup and only one was delivered my wife ordered a steak and ale pie and they delivered shepherds pie Really embarrassing that we ate at different times Head waitress was really good and didn’t charge us Not the best night!
When you decide to dine at MPW I would have expected a better steak than we ordered. I have had better steaks from an Aldi Supermarket and a Miller & Carter restaurant. I can’t fault the service and friendliness of the service staff, however I doubt very much if I would rush back to any MPW establishment.
We visited the restaurant because we were given a voucher but I doubt we will return. The setting and views is outstanding but the food does not live up to the promise. My daughter's starter of beetroot and goats cheese salad was so poor she sent it back...barely any goats cheese but masses and masses of beetroot. But the replacement was not much better. We each asked for our steaks to be cooked medium rare but each was nearer to medium to well done and incredibly small portions for the price. Overall a very disappointing experience
Brilliant place lovely staff lovely food will definately be back ????xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
