Afternoon tea looked amazeballs! However the smoked salmon cream cheese Sandwich has a bone in it. Champagne at £12 a glass and English sparkling only by the bottle was a shame. Service is slow and nobody is around, has to wait 10 minutes fir someone to appear so we could pay the bill... There was a loud man, who appeared to be staff working on the table behind us, so we could hear all about his spreadsheets while we tried to enjoy our sandwiches. Overall good, cakes were lovely and scones warm with a choice of teas. Worth a visit.

The food was lovely and the setting was beautiful. We were welcomed warmly. My only criticism would be that after being seated and our food/tea being brought over (we had the afternoon tea), no one came again to see if we needed anything else.

Friendly staff. Lovely setting, sat outside looking over the gardens with rabbits and squirrels moving around. Nice way to treat your Mum on a free day.

Initially service when we arrived was good and waiter friendly and helpful . Food average , scones hard and overcooked , no one checked if we were ok or needed a top up of tea . We asked for a box to take some macaroons home , after a look of distain from the waitress behind the bar , a cardboard pot and tinfoil to put them in was handed to us and I had to sign a disclaimer about taking food off premises ! First time I have ever not left a tip for service . Disappointing visit as was a birthday treat for my Mother in Law . It was very quiet in there…

My visit here was absolutely shocking if I could have rated it a 0 I would have. Firstly, after booking in may and ringing twice prior to coming, including thismorning (day of booking), we turned up for our afternoon tea for staff to not even know we were coming. The table wasn’t ready and they had squeezed us around 2 small tables untill we had to bring another over ourselves, despite there only being 2 other people seated in the area we were in. After finally being served some drinks the waiter DROPPED a tray of KNIVES AND FORKS over a 2 MONTH OLD BABY. Had this not been bad enough we then waited 40 minutes for a PRE BOOKED afternoon tea, only to discover it hadn’t been made at all. The waiter at the bar kept disappearing, to the point where another two paying customers didn’t recieve their coffees and had to go and find the waiter herself. The icing on the cake came when we were served our afternoon tea, only to find our sandwiches on OLD STALE BREAD. I am absolutely disgusted at the service and food from this place, I will be telling everyone to avoid. No compensatory efforts were made, and a big complaint is going g to Bannatynes head office. For a high standard restaurant this is absolutely in acceptable.

The cream tea was amazing. Beautifully presented and friendly helpful staff. We booked for my partners 70th birthday. Sadly he is very unwell but loved looking at the gardens from our table.
First Rate. Thank you.
