Our lunch was booked for mid-day as we had spa appointments for 1.30pm. Plenty of time for lunch you would think. We did not get asked for our order till 12.15, our drinks came fairly quickly but our food order still had not arrived at 12.50. We then asked a waitress who was rushed off her feet (maybe a suggestion could be more staff or less spa guests) our food then came within 5 mins. The chips were so hot that i burnt my mouth but in saying that the chips were good, the salad we ordered was dry and cold (maybe it had been left standing) We did complain to the waitress who was very apologetic and asked if we would like something else but we couldnt as by this time it was our treatment times.

We arrived 10 minutes early and was sat down but told we couldn’t have the afternoon tea until 3 including the tea or coffee. We ordered a cold beverage each. We was asked what drinks we wanted with our afternoon tea. I asked for tea and my husband asked for coffee. My tea was brought out at 3pm but we didn’t receive our afternoon tea until 3.30pm by which time my tea was tepid and I had run out of milk and sugar. My husband’s coffee never arrived. I managed to grab a staff member as they passed through the restaurant to ask for extra sugar and milk. We never see anybody to ask for the coffee. The scone was very pain tasting and dried out. I couldn’t eat any of the smaller cakes as they was just way too sweet and not very nice. The only time a member of staff appeared was when my husband left the restaurant and I got up and went to the desk.

Good atmosphere, nice surroundings and good food. Only downside was a 40 min wait for the food, and this was after the lunchtime rush. Otherwise a very enjoyable lunch.

They were short staffed on the day the waiter kept telling everyone there was only two members of staff working in the restaurant we counted 3 ! Service was terrible we had no tea spoons with our tea and coffee never offered a refill ! Had to wait ages for glasses of water . This was part of a spa package I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant !

The food was bland the atmosphere was no good cups were dirty and the floor sticky for a spa it was lacking the restaurant needs a good paint and some decor felt like a waiting room would not recommend..

Wouldn’t recommend purely for afternoon tea. Served in the same area as all the spa guests which is odd when you are fully dressed! Conservatory stuffy and very noisy. Crockery very canteen like. Staff friendly but shabby appearance. Could do with ensuring shirts ironed and flies fully done up. Not a sophisticated experience for the price.
