10/10The food was piping hot & delicious & really well priced on a 2 or 3 course offer. The staff were lovely & helpful. It’s was a busy Sunday lunchtime but we didn’t feel squeezed in to the next table.

6.5/10Lovely staff! The barman and waiting staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was disappointing. Starters: vegetable soup was cold and under seasoned, prawn cocktail served on limp lettuce and toast only toasted on one side. Main: no seasoning on anything, chewy beef, undercooked vegetables. The restaurant is a comfortable space with good staff. The food is a huge disappointment!

7.5/10A pleasant lunchtime dining experience. The food was good and reasonably priced . Not too many staff around so there was a bit of a wait for service which did not trouble us but needs to be addressed as it is not an isolated occurrence.

8/10I and 2 friends had the 2 course lunch for £15. We all enjoyed our food and were happy with the menu choices and that there were GF options. We had a lovely meal in a lovely relaxed setting.

8/10First time in this restaurant, great food & friendly service. The experience would be even better if a) time between courses would a little longer and b) staff would not start setting tables for breakfast really early.

9/10Book club social meeting for 8 of us who had pre-ordered our food. The service was great, we weren't rushed and all food was excellently presented and enjoyed by all. Our gluten free friend was pleased with her food and we were all happy to linger over coffee. Will visit again.

First time in a long time dining here and unfortunately, it was incredibly underwhelming. Starting with the positives: the waiting staff are incredibly friendly, attentive and pace of service was excellent. The bar staff were also lovely and polite. We dined on Father’s Day and all 6 opted for the 3 courses for £18. The starters were ok, nothing amazing, but not ‘bad’, they came out quickly and were hot. The salad was a few dull lettuce leaves and red onion, no peppers or tomatoes or even a dressing. The dinner itself was in all, rather inedible. The roast potato’s were dry and hard and tasted of old oil, the veg considered of carrots and broccoli from a microwave bag with absolutely zero flavour at all. The cauliflower cheese was ok, abit bland, the Yorkshire puddings tasted old and the meat was ok. There was no mash, no roasted veg, it was all just lacklustre. Majority of us left the dinner and hoped the deserts would be better, thankfully, they were. The brownie and sticky toffee puddings were to die for. All in all, we won’t be dining here again simply down to the quality of food.

10/10I was celebrating my retirement with friends, we had booked to sit outside but the weather was distinctly chilly, the staff had the presence of mind to book us inside instead, not only that, although i had not booked it as a special lunch a treat was added to my dessert with the decoration "happy retirement", good food and attentive and considerate staff.

Fabulous venue, lovely atmosphere and great staff. We had afternoon tea with unlimited tea and coffee, including green tea which was offered to us plenty of times. We took our tea outside and the outdoor sitting area was very comfortable as weather was nice and sunny.

+3The food was very tasty and good value for money. The staff were friendly and welcoming. My 13 year old had the chicken parmo which she described as 'nice' but not the best she has ever had - she is somewhat of a connoisseur! I had the seabass which was delightful and full of flavour although the portion size was small. I usually can't manage 3 courses but did on this occasion perhaps it was a smaller size portion because of the 3 course deal. Starters and deserts all went down well. The ambiance could be improved by a little background music perhaps. Overall we all enjoyed our food and would recommend. We will be back to sample the next menu.

9/10Really nice restaurant. Servers were very good and the food was nice. Very happy considering it was only £15 for a 2 course lunch. Plenty of parking around the back aswell. Overall will visit again.

8/10Good menu for Sunday lunch, plenty of choices outside of main Sunday roast. Service was a little quick for my liking- as in asking for choices after just sitting down. Appreciate we all have different tastes so it’s difficult to get it right for everyone! But everyone was very lovely, and smiled. I would definitely go back.

10/10Lovely evening. Service was quick even though the restaurant was fairly busy. Choice of meals for those with dietary requirements. Food was freshly cooked, the portions were good and all the meals were tasty. Will definitely go again. The 3 course for £20 special is great value.

10/10We were delighted with our meal at Maxine's. The food exceeded expectation and the service we received from all the staff was excellent. They were all friendly and helpful especially Charlotte who served us the most. My husband asked about the possibility of making the parmo on the menu into a hotshot parmo and they did this for him at no extra cost. We will definitely go again.

5/10We were asked to sit in the corner of the room where not much room was given, the starter was beautiful, the main followed straight after which was disappointing. i had beef brisket which was sliced , overcooked, dry roast beef with watery peppercorn sauce & lumpy mash. I ate half of it and left the rest. We were waiting around 30mins for our plates to be taken away and approx 15more mins for desert which was a slither of cheesecake however it was beautiful. When we finished we sat waiting for someone to collect our plates so i could ask for the bill. The manager and a waitress saw us looking at them twice and didnt come over so we went over to them. We spoke to the female manager and explained we had been waiting a long time for our desert and the bill and the response was "We have other rooms that require service too, sorry". Also the 'card payments only' policy came as a shock as i was under the impression that cash was legal tender and couldnt be refused. Maybe this should be advertised on the site before customers book a table. The meal i had was x3 courses for £20 but because the main meal was disappointing and nobody came over to ask if the meal was ok, i wouldnt return for a meal here.

10/10Bannatynes is a pleasant place and we have nearly always had outstanding food. This last occasion was no exception. I had seabass on coconut noodles and it was superb - a bit different but very moreish (the noodles were soft and delicate) . The portion sizes are also good - plentiful but not ridiculous. Excessively large portions and wasted food are a massive turn off for me. My whole meal was wonderful and my husband very much enjoyed his.
