Fantastic food, friendly, attentive staff and an elegant but not stuffy ambience - a great place for a special celebration but also a wonderful treat on a gloomy Monday night, as we decided yesterday! Been coming here for years and it is without doubt our favourite restaurant in Chelsea/Fulham area.

We thought the staff were friendly and helpful, the ambiance was good but rather noisy but the standard of food was noticeably lower than in our previous visits, while the price of both food and particularly wine was just as noticeably higher. Altogether the experience was disappointing when compared with previous visits.

This was our first time at Medlar- it won't be our last! We dined on the excellent value lunch menu and had a variety of courses. I had the crab raviolo and my husband the pea soup for starters- both delicious. For mains we had the lamb and the beef fillet and again, the presentation, taste and standard was exceptional. The bottle of Albarino we had to accompany was also excellent and good value. All staff were lovely but a particular shout out to Jeremy- we will be back for the cheese soon I promise you!

Our second visit here and this time we brought friends with us so very much hoped we wouldn’t be disappointed and we weren’t. My only minor issue is that I thought the pre lunch drinks a bit expensive and I don’t like having service pre added to the bill. I would have added a tip anyway. However, that said, the food and service was excellent and we will return.

The service was both excellent but slow, it seems the kitchen was not in sync. The starter (Raviole de Crabe) arrived luck warm and with a very small amount of crab otherwise tasting good. The Brill and Cod portion were quite small compare to the price of the dish. We have been coming since the opening but not on a regular basis. It was not as we remembered it. They kindly discounted the starter. Which was an appreciated gesture.

We have been there before and we know that the menu is inventive and the food good. However, it is a delight to see the multiple ingredients combined together on the plate and the waiters so enthusiastic about their work. However, today is busy and every table is occupied, it got a bit noisy during lunch.

This was somewhat of a last minute decision in terms of our overall dining plan. I read the reviews and decided to book not only due to the menu, but the promise of a relaxed atmosphere. It is so true! Once you enter, you are warmly engaged and the staff only wants you to feel comfortable as you explore the menu. They are happy to accommodate personal preference and are there to guide you at every step. After a rather rainy day, I felt as this was a cocoon of a culinary experience. All the dishes were delicious and enjoyed. The wine pairing was exceptional and I particularly enjoyed the symbiotic approach to the wine choice. Such a pleasant experience and I would recommend trying this restaurant any time. We will definitely add it to our choice in London when we hop across the pond.

Four of us visited Medlar for a late lunch last Sunday and it was perfect! Beautiful, thoughtful dishes and the staff were excellent - attentive, friendly and knowledgeable but not intrusive. Our lunch was a real treat and we will most certainly go out of our way to visit again. Thank you to all the staff at Medlar.

This was our second visit to Medlar. It won't be our last! Everything was perfect, from the gracious and friendly welcome right to the end. In between, the food was absolutely stunning, the wine reasonably priced and delicious, and the service was knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks for a great experience.
