10/10Lovely restaurant. We had a table overlooking the lovely garden. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The chef catered brilliantly for me as a coeliac and dairy intolerant customer. I was able to choose from the main menu with a little adjustment. We had a lovely meal at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

4.5/10The floor board of the restaurant needs replacing. Every time someone walks around it was like there was an earthquake. Food is mediocre. Two starters and a dessert from a small menu were unavailable. The fire alarm went off and kept going for about 5 minutes. No one came to inform if it was a drill or if we should evacuate. Waitress only came after the alarm stopped to say it was a false alarm.

10/10Highly recommended. The staff are so friendly. The ambience was good. The meal prepared by their chef James was superb. Faultless and well presented. The waiting staff were very attentive and polite. Worth a visit

10/10This restaurant caters for all tastes. My husband and I have never been disappointed at the choice of food and the quality. The staff are always friendly and serve you with a smile. The price of our meals have always been reasonable. Highly recommended give this restaurant a try.

4.5/10Ordered fish and chips. The fish was out of the freezer and absolutely horrible. Chips were ok. Definitely not worth the £18. On top of this the coke ordered was flat.

3.5/10We had to send one of the meals back. The chick pea curry was so bitter, it just tasted like vinegar and nothing else. It was literally inedible. The first time I have ever sent back food. The photos of the restaurant are old, it doesn't look like that anymore. The menu is old too, much less options now, they basically just sell burgers. For the price, we were expecting so much more. The waitress was however extremely nice and apologetic and happily swapped the food for something else. Even the replacement food was not good. Seemed like a pre bought microwaved pie. If it wasn't for the waitress we would have walked out.

6.5/10We had booked a table for two in the Restaurant but when we got to the hotel we were told the Restaurant was closed. We were told we could choose a table in the bar area. Since the evening meal and hotel stay were for a special occasion birthday meal, this was a disappointment. Fortunately the bar area wasn't too busy. The tables were set up well and the whole area looked appealing and relaxing. There was a book swap area which I've not seen in a hotel bar before - great idea! There was also a pool table. The menu was limited and we ended with options neither of us would normally choose. The staff were friendly.

9/10Food and service were excellent - The only down side was that the restaurant was closed and we had to eat in the Bar area.

6/10Not so good this time, after two previous visits had been excellent. The impressive main dining space - the Brasserie - is now only open at weekends (Fri-Sun) and for functions. The bar area - still quite a smart location - is now set up for dinner Mon-Thu. Service is largely in the hands of young men keen to learn their trade but there were lapses - the couple on the next table were offered water while I was ignored, and my glass of white wine arrived a couple of minutes after the crispy squid starter, accompanied by the glass of red for the rib-eye steak main. This was well-cooked but poor value at over £25, with too much inedible,. and two small mushrooms and a small tomato looking rather lost on a large plate with an average portion of decent chips in a tin.. I didn't stay for dessert. If I return soon it will be at a weekend.

10/10Excellent food and service in a stylish hotel setting. The menu is shorter and less ambitious than on a previous visit, but it is quality produce, well-cooked and good value for money. Enjoyed crispy squid, wild mushroom & truffle linguine and a sensational dessert - Caramel Souffle - which came cold (so no preparation delay!). Lovely Pinot Gris wine too. Highly recommended.

10/10Delicious food - a large portion of fried squid, beautifully presented salmon fillet with ratatouille and parmentier potatoes, finished with cheesecake. New Zealand pinot gris was an excellent accompaniment. Friendly and incredibly speedy service. Worth staying at the hotel if you're visiting Chester as it has a large car-park and is adjacent to the Park & Ride. Accepts Yums too - one of the few places outside London. Will be returning!

7.5/10The starters were brilliant I had the squid and my wife had the bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar main course I had the steak and ale pie the was served with broccoli and mash potatoes although the food was very hot the mash was powdered potato and this was the same on my wife’s meal she had the salmon the food was tasty but I was put off a bit by the mash. We had desert I had dark chocolate and cherry tart this was served with coconut ice cream and my wife had the panacota these were ok but I felt they weren’t good value.

10/10Ayo our waiter was lovely, personable and with a sense of humour. Wished us happy anniversary and showed us ro the table with a view the I had asked for. In my online booking. Ayp gave us enough time to read the menu and decide what we wanted. Food was lovely and exceeded our expectations. Sharing Platter, steakhouse burger, Korean kimchi burger, s'mores cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding with custard, 4pints of Pepsi Max totalled £82 but we had £50 yums so our anniversary meal was a mere £30!
