Waitress was nice. Food tasteless. Very expensive for what it is. 3 birthdays. Told ahead of time, told there would be a candle in desserts, nothing happened. My mother said at end and one birthday plate arrived which was too late. Will. not return.

An overpriced Beefeater - won’t be going back. Unfortunately I found this restaurant completely underwhelming - when you have to send back 3 out of 8 dishes you know things aren’t going well. Undercooked garlic bread seems to be such a poor start and then to have 2 steaks undercooked. Even then the quality of the food was nothing special. Staff worked hard but fighting a losing battle sadly.

Went to the miller and carter in Caversham, Reading. Our waiter Joe was fabulous as was the food by the chef Jake. Lovely decor and atmosphere.

We went there for mothers day. First problem was they had no record of our booking, this was resolved and we eventually got a table. The waitress asked us for a drinks order but the wife wanted to see the wine menu and asked for a few minutes. The waitress finally returned 10 minutes later. She took our drinks and food orders and we waited patiently for the food to arrive. Both my wife's food and my child's food were cold. We sent them back and duly waited for the replacements. The new meal for the child was fine but they only replaced the steak on my wife's plate. Whilst the steak was warm, everything else was cold and the chips were missing. We sent her plate back for a second time and eventually we have a successful meal. The whole experience was not what we expected and to add to the enjoyment, I went into the Gents and they were flooded. Eventually they put a sign on the door to say they were out of order. I'm not sure we'll go back to this one. This was our first experience of this particular restaurant. For a steak house, you would hope they would know how to serve a steak but sadly it took 3 attempts!
