It was a busy night for the restaurant. Despite this, service was amazing. We started with the seafood dim sum platter which was really good. For mains, we had the sweet and sour chicken and the signature jumbo prawn. Both dishes were very good with the egg fried rice.

Excellent service, beautifully presented and prepared food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, interior small, cosy and modern, food delicious particularly the Dim Sum, tasted fresh and prawns were juicy and plump. Will be going back to try the Hot Pot which a neighbouring table had, and arrived full of drama setting the fire alarm off momentarily!

So happy Ming’s has opened in Balham. As a HKer I need my comfort food and Ming’s does a good job. It’s also just a lovely space to share a meal with friends and family.

The food was very tasty and authentic. The salty chilli squid and sweet and sour pork were both delicious and the batter was surprisingly light and not greasy at all. The xiao long baos had great flavour and filled with soup, the pastry around each was a little thicker than what one would expect and each one is a little bit on the small side, but a little nugget of tastiness nonetheless. Will definitely be returning again at some point. Aside from the food, the service needs a little improvement but no doubt these things will get ironed out in time with the newer staff members. The staff seem very friendly and attentive, and it only got a little chaotic when it became very busy at one point.

Friendly people, great food cooked to order Just a little mix up on food but easily sorted suggest you need to book a lot of disappointed people turning up for a table
