9.5/10Lovely restaurant with very good service and really wonderful food. There were only 3 big problems which I think others should be aware of, meaning I would recommend people should actually phone the restaurant directly to make their booking, in order to be sure they have GOT a booking!! So the main problems seem to be booking online via this website - The Fork. I made the online booking via the Fork with no problems and received confirmation of the date, time and party size to my phone. So far so good. A couple of days later we needed to increase the party size and I tried to do this via the chatbot, which just leads you round and round in circles, frequently booting you out, and you have to start all over again. Eventually if you’re lucky, you get to chat to a live human! But the same thing happens - you get cut off repeatedly mid chat and have to start all over again! I think I went through this process for about an hour before I was eventually told I needed to call the restaurant to amend the booking! I then called immediately, only to be told by the restaurant staff that they had no knowledge of my booking at all, as they don’t work with The Fork! So I actually had to make a completely new booking, but luckily they had space. (It would have been awful if I hadn’t found this out, as we were meeting 10 family members at the restaurant for an anniversary dinner, and it would have been an embarrassing and disappointing mess to find we had no table at all! So in other words, skip The Fork and make your booking direct yourself! The final thing involved a mistake with our bill when it came to payment, meaning I’d paid about £13.50 too much - though this was NOT a deliberate mistake on the part of the restaurant. When we realised it, the waiter said he would refund me to my card, but unfortunately he then charged me the same amount again, instead of refunding me! Luckily I realised this when I looked at my bank statement, and I actually went back to the restaurant the next day, and they rectified the mistake and gave me the correct refund. They were also very sorry about it, and said they would have refunded me over the phone if I had called. So overall I’d say a great restaurant with fantastic food, and lovely staff. But don’t bother booking through The Fork website!
