4/10Only one server working so slow to get anything, although he was friendly and tried hard to accommodate. Sandwiches were a bit dry on the edges and extra egg sandwiches were poorly executed and not to afternoon tea standard. Tea was only refreshed with hot water so very weak.

8.5/10Booked afternoon tea for my Husband, the restaurant was lovely ! Nice ambiance Service was slow, I had asked for meat free sandwiches but they came with meat but it was sorted without a problem

5.5/10There were no other customers, they didn’t have any background music so it felt distinctly uncomfortable. Deathly silence all around and an echo. Food was pretty big standard. Nothing remotely special.

9.5/10Lovely restaurant, great food and friendly service. BUT … staff need more knowledge about allergens as I mentioned several times that my 11 year son has a severe tree nut allergy, The staff member said to avoid 2 particular dishes but my son spotted another dish that included almonds. If he had not looked closely at the menu we could have easily ordered it and had a very serious problem on our hands if he ate it and went into anaphylaxis shock. Also, was a bit bemused that a group of diners came from the spa in their robes and slippers.

9/10Walking in at night it was very atmospheric and was equally as lovely in the day light. Mo was a delight, he made our experience(s) fun, making us welcome and our time there fun with the right amount of banter and attentiveness. Food one one night was a bit of a mixed reception amoungst the 4 of us, but we all thoroughly enjoyed breakfast and the roast dinner. We will return!

10/10My husband and I enjoyed a lovely evening celebrating a special birthday. The service was excellent and the food and wine was super. They even surprised my husband with a birthday candle in a cake!

7/10It felt a little bit like being in an Indian restaurant with one waiter who was also serving behind the bar, which was also part of the restaurant. I like a bar to be separate from the dining area and more serving staff so the waiter isn’t rushing around everywhere.

9/10A most pleasant afternoon tea for an 89th birthday treat. Only one thing disappointed the party! There was no visible signage for disabled entrance from patio Three over 85’s climbed the front stairs to reception only to be turned around to go back down & enter from patio!!!

7/10Only had vegetarian option for dinner. Two for lunch, of which one was repeated for dinner. Something to consider if having both meals. Service was a little slow but staff were very friendly. Breakfast was great.

First meal at the hotel since also becoming a spa member today . Really great atmosphere along with wonderful staff always wanting to please ..amazing decor ,really comfy chairs, love the gardens and grounds . Can't wait to go.back

2/10Menus were very limited. Light bites and lunch menu, pretty much the same. Dinner menu the same again. No variety. We stayed over so wanted something different for lunch (light light example a sarnie) we ended up having to drive to Chilworth to find a pub. Dinner wasn’t good, Food looked posh but absolutely no taste, incredibly bland. Couldn’t taste the horseradish in the mash whatsoever and beef had no sauce was just a pile of beef cheek no flavour. My friend has the pork belly and she said that was also poor, again no flavour Breakfast - terrible. Scrambled eggs looked wrong, Customers complaining about the service - hardly any staff. Reluctant to get cutlery when asked and plates etc looked grubby. Silly plates that were too small and kept tipping up when you tried to actually cut something. All in all poor all round.

Came here for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner during our 2 night stay and couldn't say a bad word about it. The staff were great and the food was great.

Great food, unfortunately let down by very bad service, for lunch we were brought the wrong dish, which we decided to keep anyway, then the actual dish we ordered came out, they tried to charge for both. Dinner again food was very good, we both had scallops for starter which were excellent, mains were the burger and Moroccan lamb, unfortunately, when we were eating dessert the cocktail glasses (which we had finished before the starter even came out) and food spillages from dinner were still on the table, poor attention to detail which let’s this place down,

9.5/10This was our first venture here and impressed - the restaurant area was very quiet so we thought they might want us in and out, how wrong we were. Five us enjoyed delicious starters and mains, so much so we did not have room for the range of desserts on offer. After our meal we had arranged for a friend to join us for a cup of tea with her newborn. The head waiter said we were welcome to stay at our table as long as we liked and was most charming serving us pots of tea while other tables filled out with other guests enjoying a full afternoon tea. Service was charming and courteous as well as extremely accommodating.

10/10The restaurant at the Manor Hotel was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome and our waiter was very friendly. The courses came in good time and the food was of excellent quality. The restaurant is in a lovely location and beautifully decorated. Will definitely return!

8.5/10I have visited several times before for afternoon tea. The sandwiches and scones were delicious but there were fewer cakes than previous visits. We only had two tiny petits four each. Although delicious, previously we had three or four cakes each.

3/10We were very disappointed with the whole venue and will not go there again. The food trays were empty, the quality of the food was very poor, there was no one around to help us and the coffee machine was not working, which was just as well I suppose!!

7/10one of our party is disabled. i had rang ahead but no thought apparent as i came in and asked how we could get in as only lots of steps or long out of the way slope. No disabled parking anywhere near building signed or advised. Also step up and down into toilet not disabled friendly. Would have liked chance to have cups of tea topped up and hot water option too but wasn’t. Food was fine and cups of tea we had were good. Staff pleasant and didn’t hurry us on

5/10It was so bad, it was funny, we were expecting Ant and Dec to pop out! The food was actually good, over priced for what it was, but good quality. The service was shocking, the gentleman was very friendly but inexperienced and hung out to dry, as he was on his own, and not coping. Dirty plates left in front of us for an hour, pudding not even offered, drinks were a luxury, we were left 45 minutes with no liquid on the table, we had to go to the bar several times to prompt service, even then it took over 25 minutes. The gentleman could not apologise enough, but by this point the evening was ruined, and it was my wife’s birthday treat. We have laughed about the experience today, but we certainly will not be returning or recommending your business!

3.5/10I ordered fish and chips which looked great. Unfortunately it tasted and smelled of ammonia. I ordered another one as other people had ordered it I thought it must have been a one off. Unfortunately the second one was the same No one came to ask how the second one was and wasn’t offered anything else. Very poor for a hotel.

10/10We made a thousand mile round trip to have a tea party for our 92 year old Grandmother's birthday, and had an afternoon tea at the Manor and Spa for her special day. All parts of it exceeded my expectations, and she had an absolutely fabulous time. The chef did an amazing job catering for all our needs including a dairy intolerance and children. Thank you very much to all the staff in the restaurant throughout our stay. It has made a very memorable and happy day for everyone.
