10/10A delicious Sunday roast with excellent service. Have tried Sunday roasts at several local pubs but this is by far the best for food, service and ambience.

9.5/10Midweek lunch with 2 friends. Portion sizes were just right and the food tasted really good. The staff were lovely but there were long gaps between arriving and ordering and then between the courses. Thankfully we weren’t in a hurry and enjoyed our experience

7/10Although they did not link my bill to my yum discount initially, they rectified it after our query. The ladies working there were very nice, although service a little slow. It strikes me as a restaurants that is set up for the benefits of the residence of the home, and they wanted to cater for external diners as a bit on the side. This manifested in the ambience/ service not being so efficient/ 'commercially run' as it could be. The sunday roasts were ok, but their vegetable sides were very good and freshly made (no tinned or frozen products), the cauliflower cheese especially good. Decent wine selection by the glass.

7/10The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and the food well presented. The quality of the food was inconsistent -whilst the scones were warm and had a festive flavour, the cakes were very heavy on the pastry and were not home made. The sandwiches were not freshly made and when I requested fresh tea the tea bag was not replaced. In comparison with other places visited for afternoon tea this restaurant needs to either up its game or lower its price!

Although they had missed our booking, they more than made up for it through great service and food. The tour of the facilities was a bonus! Would highly recommend for someone looking to enjoy good food in a friendly setting with great customer service.

10/10Brilliant restaurant!! Food was amazing, especially considering the price, and the ambiance was fantastic. Would definitely return without a doubt. There are a few bad reviews about this place, and honestly it almost put us off, but we went and we didn’t understand what all the reviews were about once we had sat and started eating; just delicious food, fantastic service and a lovely venue.

2/10We had made a reservation and the second we walked in, we were told that the restaurant was too busy they couldn’t obey our reservation. They blamed it on a kitchen staff walking out that night. However, seating the guests and offering a drink would have been more acceptable whilst we waited a little longer for the food. Most of those in the venue didn’t have a booking and were just standing at the bar having drinks. Poor attitude and the abruptness of the staff as we walked in was rude and unprofessional. Haven’t been here before, was going to be my first time, but definitely wouldn’t return ever again.

7/10Only one person looking after the bar and taking food orders tonight so service was different to last visit. Food was good but portions seemed smaller. Still a lovely place albeit a tad inconsistent.

7.5/10We had afternoon tea for 3 people today 31/01/2024. This was for my elderly mother birthday. I was disappointed in the sandwich quality. Also the scones quality very small. £103 for afternoon tea for 3 was definitely not worth the money. The staff are polite and very friendly. That was mainly the best thing . Sorry will not be going again

5/10I chose teriyaki trout was disappointed when the chef said it would take too long to cook the coconut rice????? I watched a couple who ordered breakfast leave after waiting 30mins My friend ordered pistachio and vanilla ice cream but was given two scoops of vanilla this was a genuine mistake. I felt sorry for the waitress who had to do a lot of apologising and taking the flack. Best to be notified of what they do actually have on the menu before ordering All in all a really lovely place good location liked it apart from the above

3/10Such a poor lunch. Food lukewarm . Meat in the stew sparse, though and not hit. Sitting on a mound of lukewarm potato and a pool of gravy. Poor vegetable soup. Only the waitress to hear our comments . No one else appeared. Not a lively atmosphere at lunch Sorry, won’t be back.

10/10A wonderful Christmas day lunch; delicious food and generous portions. Tamara provided excellent service. She was very welcoming, friendly and exactly the type of waitress we enjoy having. A big thank you to entire team. We especially appreciated the quick response to our reservation and the excellent organization. The restaurant decor was lovely. Overall, an excellent experience.

9/10The staff were amazing! I forgot to order a gluten free afternoon tea in advance. The team were able to accomodate quickly. Then our guest of honour was delayed by an hour and a hlaf but the team allowed us to stay (there was space) and kindly delayed our meals. The afternoon tea itself was delicious, very fresh sandwiches and the cakes were very tasty. Only thing was the decor and music. The pictures look much better. I also didnt realise there was a difference between the restaurant and the bistro. The bistro felt very "premier inn". Could do with an update. But certainly would return!

10/10Once again, I was really glad I booked this restaurant to show it off to a different friend! We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals - he had the full English Breakfast and I had the chicken breast which was really delicious. The service was excellent, as always, and it was lovely to be greeted by regular waitress, Tamara, who is always welcoming, efficient and friendly. I will certainly be back again.

10/10It was pouring down with rain but we still had a lovely time, choosing to sit outside at one of the tables under the balconies. Our food was great and our waitress, Tamara, was as always friendly, helpful and efficient. Thank you.

8/10It certainly is a hidden spot. My party of six is very happy with the restaurant. The food is lovely. Location is great. The staff who lead us to our table is very welcoming. He took our order nicely but came back telling four of us no scallops. It will be better if the chefs can give him a head up. It was quite a big gap between starters and mains. We were fine with that as it’s a good time to chat. One of the staff was a bit aggressive when she told us to leave. “We want to go home as we need to start again tomorrow at 8am.” I know we were there till quite late but the way she said it was rude actually. To be honest, it would have been better if we were told like 10-15 mins ahead. Another staff is so kind and polite who opened the door and said goodnight to us. It is a shame that not all the staffs are like him. Anyway, I will go back there again.

10/10Well sheltered from the rain for outdoor eating . Friendly service and a very good Sunday roast . Set back from the road opposite the common so peaceful setting.

8.5/10I met with two friends to celebrate a Birthday. I chose the chicken burger and it was really lovely.One friend had some sort of cheese ciabatta and said it was delicious! The other had the club sandwich which she found bit dry. Overall though we had a great time. The waitress was very attentive. One point to make is that I was surprised there weren't more parasols. If the sun is around they could double up as umbrellas during any showers! It is such a lovely environment sitting outside and I think we may well do this even when we are allowed inside!

9/10Excellent burgers and chips! Interested to try other things on the menu. Great relaxed service. A great little local, perfect for after tennis nearby :) Would bring the family too.
