6/10Having been to the restaurant a number of years ago we were unaware it had moved location, which was our mistake but made us late for the booking. The waitress was polite and pleasant but we felt rushed by the other members of staff. The peppercorn sauce which was ordered to accompany my husband's steak was very poor. No one came to ask how our meal was , at which point I would have been able to express my disappointment with that. We felt rushed during the meal and our plates were offered to be taken twice in quick succession by two separate staff and I had not quite finished my chips. My husband's chair was unstable and felt unsafe. Overall it was a very underwhelming experience. I ordered a bottle of sauvignon blanc which was £34 on the menu but we were given a £49 bottle. With two options on the menu the waitress should have checked. And in an almost empty restaurant a couple was sat right next to us which felt unnecessary and meant our privacy was compromised.

7.5/10Food was absolutely delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back. If you’re going thinking this is were they filmed first dates don’t because the first dates restaurant used to be filmed when the chop house was in paternoster square but it has since filming finished moved to here (old Bailey ) never the less I loved the food, well done Chef 👏👏👏👏

10/10We had an amazing evening at the Paternoster Chop House. We were celebrating several important milestones. We were presented with a desert to celebrate. The food was amazing, beautifully presented, very tasty. The restaurant was light and airy and had a cheerful buzz. The bill for four people was c£125/head but we had 2 bottles of champagne. Great value.

5.5/10I loved PCH. it really had excellent food. this time it was disappointing. the bacon on the scallops was burnt. the lamb was not right.. u could see by the looks. PCH is no longer the spectacular restaurant that it was

9.5/10Made very welcome as soon as we arrived with a 'happy birthday' to my partner and a complimentary glass of prosecco for us both. Food was absolutely lovely, fresh, lots of it, top quality, oysters, prawn cocktail, fillet steak - quality. Finished off with a complimentary happy birthday dessert. 100% recommend, worth every penny.

6/10The steak tartare was very good. The burger was ok. The gravy was tasty. The ribeye was disappointing, bit tough, cooked medium not medium rare as requested but well seasoned. The cream spinach was unpleasant. The cream part!

9/10Liked the food so much we returned a week later. Entrees, sides and dessert were delicious. Service was excellent the first visit, waiter forgot our side the second visit but was apologetic. If you don’t write it down you are going to miss it.

7.5/10Service took over 90 mins from starters to mains. Was incredibly busy. However, was a long while between meals, plus nothing complimentary due to that as well. Staff were incredibly courteous and apologetic.

4.5/10This is definitely not the First Dates restaurant featured in the show that you might be hoping to visit, so don't be fooled. We booked as it was one of out 'bucket List' places to visit. We booked for 3pm and on arrival we were greeted with 'The kitchen shuts in 10 minutes so you had better be quick'. Lovely. Worried that the kitchen might close (or that chef might not be best pleased with unwelcome guests) we quickly ordered Fish and Chips - not really what we had hoped for but the clock was ticking. We were offered dessert but the choice was minimal (where was the chocolate pudding which melts when hot chocolate is poured over it that we've seen onscreen so often?). Not a complete disaster but a treat that was disappointing and we wont revisit.

9.5/10Great service, good quality food which aligns with typical Chop House pricing in the City of London (not cheap). Had a business lunch with a customer, and we were both very happy with the level of service, quality of the dishes served, and the speed at which they were served.

8/10I could only book 5pm or 9pm i went for 5pm had 2 hours there probably 10 diners there lots and lots of empty tables no ambience nothing like the First Dates restaurant inside or out dissapointed also the 13.5 % service charge a joke it say's discretionary but already on your bill when brought to your table will not be back.

2/10Awful experience. I booked a week in advance and when I turned up was told I would have to order fast as the kitchen was closing so they were only open for me. They could not cater for my friend who was celiac which I would expect a restaurant to be able to do so she could not eat anything at all. Staff were rude and unhelpful, service was slow and food was mediocre. Would not recommend at all.

7/10They were desperate to get us out after one and half hours because it was xmas! This was despite there being plenty of tables for a second sitting many of which weren’t even laid up ! Sod the customer and i am not sure I would go back again after previously been a happy customer! Went to a wine bar nearby where customer experience was so much better ! We paid good money shouldn’t be treated like that!

9.5/10Long weekend in London made so much nicer by superb meal, I had pork chop, delicious , my wife had amazing burger. The bottle of Gavi Di Gavi and relaxing atmosphere was just what was needed after a day of sightseeing and busy streets.

Our waiter was a young chap, who could have been a bit louder when talking to us, and could have looked a bit better presented, as his hair was quite an untidy. Also I feel the pie we ordered at £24 could have at least come with a bit more substance than having to order chips also.

9.5/10Food was excellent and served quickly. There were of course on 4 people in the restaurant other than the staff. The steak was really really good and cooked exactly as I had asked for. I thought £3 for some horse radish on the side was ridiculous. The fact the everything is a side at additional cost is a bit much. Nothing was offered included in the price of the steak. So by the time you have say mashed potato, and two veg plus the horse radish you've added £21 to a £43 steak. Pity they no longer have table cloths so it no longer feels like fine dining for a fine dining price. However, the service was excellent as was the food hence the positive rating. The restaurant and its outside tables (in a narrow side street) are a bit gloomy compared with the old location.
