We had a most lovely evening at Pierre Victoire. Delicious food… such depth of flavour and beautiful to look at as well. Ambience was lively but not too noisy and the service was friendly and attentive. Very enjoyable, thank you ☺️

We are sadly to be told that the bread basket is charged for £2.5 where every table receive at the very beginning without ordering it. We aren’t treated fairly.

The food was good (although it felt a bit too prepared in advance to accelerate the service: the dessert Creme brulee was completely cold..) The experience of 'eating out' was less nice as we were really rushed in every step of the meal. I understand it is because they have multiple services / several reservations etc and not staff's fault but I still think this is not the way to go.

Good evening from Pierre Victoire. I've chatted to head chef about your feedback on the crème brûlée -one of our signature dishes. I can confirm that the topping is never made in advance, on your next visit you are welcome to view the team using a blowtorch to prepare it to order. For safety, it is necessary to let the topping cool somewhat before serving- because the molten sugar is sticky and has been heated to 100+degree, as for the crème brûlée's base this is supposed to be cool. Once we got your feedback, the head chef was a little puzzled about it, so we actually did a little experiment to see whether preparing and then sitting it to rest for 10' minutes would lead to it feeling cold (it is usually served much quicker), however even with a delay it didn't seem to feel 'cold'. The chef was wondering whether you'd become accustomed to eating the topping nearly hot?

Nice food, drinks, ambience and service but somewhat disappointed by the ungracious ‘we’re closing now’ (so leave) general pronouncement at the end of the evening - having spent about £330, we’d expected better…

One of the most popular restaurants in Oxford that delivers a high standard at reasonable prices. A busy locale, but we did not feel rushed as we consumed two excellent courses and a decent 1/2 bottle of wine.

We made a lunch booking for 7 gents to have our annual Christmas get together in Oxford. In spite of leaving it quite late to book, they managed to fit us in on a Saturday. The service was slick and efficient in spite of the place being packed, the food was excellent and uncomplicated and it was ridiculously good value at £25.95 for 3 courses. Pierre Victoire has been and still is an excellent choice for a celebratory meal in central Oxford. I can’t really find any fault in it. Thanks very much to the staff.

The person who took care of us was Phenomenal. We felt he really cared, provided excellent recommendations and overall made us feel welcome. We really enjoyed our evening because of him— Wish I could have had his name. Black hair with glasses provided top notch service. Thank you very much for the wonderful food and a wonderful evening.

Lovely little restaurant, friendly and efficient staff and great food. Delicious French Onion Soup followed by a magnificent Sunday roast. Three courses for a very reasonable price. The cheesecake for dessert was rather strange - it looked like a slab of (beautifully presented) paté and tasted a bit odd, it seemed a bit like a creative experiment that maybe hadn't quite worked. I didn't mind too much as the rest of the meal was amazing. Lovely coffee afterwards, too.
