9/10We loved the location and the interior. It was a sunny and warm day so we sat outside, which was very pleasant. The service was very good, attentive and personal. The menu was quite small but imaginative. The potions were quite small but very well presented and with a lot of flare and imagination. The choice of wine was excellent. It was quite expensive but overall a pleasant experience.

9/10Great location, spacious. Delicious food satisfying a range of palettes and great wine recommendations if you ask. An extensive wine list. Some lower priced wine by the glass options would be good. Great vibe to relax with friends. Friendly, obliging service.

10/10Dishes designed for sharing are not going to stop me from trying :P Next time l’ll bring friends who can appreciate wine. (How can people come here only for a gelassen of wine each?! Food is good here.) Thanks for accommodating my early arrival for dinner in the chilly rainy windy afternoon! Chestnut Celeriac Soup. Rich, creamy, not too heavy. I haven’t tried celeriac before, but it tastes like an earthier version of celery soup. The chestnut bits are lovely. I won’t normally go for soup, but it is no disappointment. Steak tartar is really full of flavor, (to quote the waiter, the second section is “heavier in terms of flavor not necessarily portion”. It’s probably the most heavily seasoned tartar I’ve had— red pasta flavor of tomato, basil, pine nuts— imagine stirring meat with pizza sauce. It may be doing a little injustice to the quality of the beef, but tastes interesting and exciting. The sourdough strips are fried to a beautiful golden color, and the amount of oil must be horrific. I would totally enjoy some simple toasted sourdough with equal if not more satisfaction ;) Why not add a dessert. It’s hard not to have someone to share, but I am determined to try the recommended tarte tartin. Swapped vanilla ice cream to pistachio;) The ice cream is not too sweet. Though not prominent in pistachio flavor, it contains crushed grains of nuts. The thin apple slices is presented in a unique swirl. Deep bittersweet proper caramel flavor. The sandy sable Breton might be too sweet to on it’s one or with the topping, but it goes well with the pistachio ice cream in my opinion. (Didn’t finish the glazed fruit because I need to cut my sugar intake, even if it’s too late.) I could have settle with a pistachio ice cream affogato but a visit is always more fun with staff’s favorites, especially the first time. Tomorrow I will work hard… The view is tranquil. The space may augment sounds and voices, so I’d agree it’s not a usual quiet place if you want something very intimate.

7.5/10Food was yummy but something about the set up made us absorb all of the cooking smells. Our hair, jackets etc all smelt of oil afterwards! The staff were amazing though. Shame.

5/10£100:head for mainly drinks steep, even for the area. Food overpriced and the sharing format overstretched.

10/10Amazing food and wine in a "small" restaurant setting. Felt relaxed and intimate. Loved having the restaurant dog wandering around, pleased to meet all the new customers!

10/10We had a great dining experience at Porte Noire. We had been before to try various wines but came for dinner this time. We had some wine (great tasting), arancini, burrata, seabass ceviche, steak tartare, burnt matcha cheesecake and tarte tatin. Everything was delicious, service was attentive and helpful. Well versed with allergies, nothing was too much trouble. We especially loved the ceviche and the arancini. The ambiance is great for special occasions or a date and there is also a great selection of wines to purchase to take home. Would definitely recommend and come again!

6/10Waiter seemed confused that I mentioned that a dish heavily involving mushrooms should mention this on the menu. ‘Sauce Normande’ does not usually include mushrooms, so should be mentioned.

10/10The food were nicely presented and they were perfect for sharing! The manager was very attentive, although I do think they are a bit under staffed. The highlights of the food must’ve been the mushroom fricassee, the steak tartare and the burnt matcha cheesecake. Also loved their sourdough and the charcuterie!

9.5/10Very good food, I found wines a bit too expensive though, but it's a nice spot for a drink and cheese or even a main. Ceviche recommended and very nice arancini.

10/10We loved Porte Noire. The owner, David was superb, attentive, happy to help with menu choices and nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb especially the sea bass ceviche was especially wonderful. They had an extensive wine list but we stuck to the house wines which were great. Would happily recommend to anyone!

8.5/10We had a lovely meal at Porte Noire. The food was tasty and the wine was excellent. The only critique is that they didn’t tell us it was sharing-style/ come as it’s ready until after we ordered and my friend was left waiting for her starter and main after my other friend and I already had all our starters and mains.
