Great experience ,really enjoyed, would definitely go again, perhaps a little rushed between courses must admit didnt expect to sit next to somebody wearing a tatty denim jacket, not expecting Black Tie, but a certain standard of dress. nice extra course with birthday wishes really appreciated

As always our visit to purnells was superb. The staff are friendly and attentive and were happy to adapt the menu according to our preferences and dietary choices. The new maitre d- Yanic was great and made us so welcome. Once again the food was excellent and we would be hard pressed to choose a favourite dish. Thanks to all at purnells.

Service and quality was great. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were welcomed and made to feel very much as though we were the most important people to them. We had the 9 course tasting menus which was amazing. The quality of the food were as good as we have had in establishments similar. We would recommend to others and the stand out dish was the haddock and eggs!!!

Outstanding food! Really really great experience and loved all the food. Very difficult to pick favourite but the monkfish and the haddock and egg are right up there. What made it for us were the staff. Made to feel so welcome and service was fantastic.

This was a very special occasion being my wife's 50th and is our second visit to Purnells as these types of venue are reserved for those special times when we push the boat out financially. Our first visit for our 1st wedding anniversary was easily 10 out of 10 but sadly we cannot give our visit on saturday the same score so please take my feedback in the constructive manner it is intended. Firstly bread and butter as a course on a tasting menu baffled us and secondly the canary potatoes left a bitter taste in the mouth (the lumps of faux charcoal - not the potato element that is). But what we really felt let down by was the fact that going to Purnells, and paying prices associated with a Michelin starred chef, we were expecting the food to be cooked/overseen by Glynn himself.

All of the food and the wine flight was excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Service was attentive and very professional but there was some communication issues due to accents.

My wife and I had the winter 6- course tasting menu with wine flight. The welcome was friendly and the service was nothing other than excellent. The food was tremendous and the wine flight complemented each course nicely. The wines were so well chosen and were presented, in a friendly and knowledgeable manner by Jarek. Every course hit the mark, from the "faux" black canary potatoes in the first course to the burnt English egg surprise in the last. The monkfish masala and prime Herefordshire beef, were simply outstanding. This was our third visit and we will be back!

Superb 6 course pescatarian menu with stand-out nibbles of charcoal potatoes and squid crackers; and the rich custard dessert; and also the masala monkfish with daal. Usual delightful and charming service

Wonderful. Superb service, food an ambience from every individual from start to finish. We couldn’t fault it. Food impeccable. Winter tasting menu was beyond our expectations and difficult to pick a favourite . Stand outs were... treats from the kitchen.. .the haddock .... the eggy pud and the mint choccy chip....the emotions of cheese and pineapple... the venison. Impeccable . Loved it all

It was all a delightful experience. The service was excellent throughout and the menu was well balanced and all tasted really good. I really enjoyed the Pollock and clams, but difficult to choose as it all went well together. The charcoal meringues were fun too. We were advised on our choice of wine and the suggestions were excellent and just what we wanted.
