4/10Having enjoyed a delicious meal at Rabbit recently I booked The Shed for lunch. The restaurant had only 4 other covers to serve, so 6 in total. Both my guest’s main course and mine were served cold, including both the sides and on cold plates. I’m sorry to say we quietly asked to return the food to the kitchen. Both mains reappeared and were hotter at least and the sides were replaced, again these were warmer but still on cold plates. Service was not happy from this moment on. We paid the bill in full and left. Disappointed.

6/10I took the 49.50 menu and unfortunately for what I’ve paid the food was averaged. Maybe they had problems in the kitchen because they skip a dish and the service was very slow. I cannot recommend.

8/10While visiting London, we wanted to try a Sunday roast. The menu at Rabbit looked great, with various offerings for the Sunday roast. We arrived on time for our reservation and were promptly seated. We ordered the signature Mushroom and marmite eclairs and they came out quickly. Unfortunately, they really lacked flavor and we even passed an opportunity for a free order of them while we were waiting for our food. Drinks came out quickly, my husband had an excellent bloody Mary and I had an English wine that I enjoyed. Then the wait began. And went on. And on. After 30 minutes the server offered us the free eclairs which we declined as an apology for the delayed service. After another 15 minutes our food finally came out. My lamb was so incredibly delicious! It was fall apart tender, juicy and delicious as were the carrots, turnip and potatoes. Sadly, the same could not be said of the pork my husband ordered, It was a bit dry, and generally lacked flavor. His parsnip was so undercooked it couldn't be eaten. We asked the server what was going on in the kitchen and she said it was an entirely new team. She did comp us our last glasses of wine due to the wait. I would absolutely go back for the lamb, but I would give the new team time to figure out what they are doing-they will get it. In the meantime, enjoy the drinks and the cozy atmosphere.

10/10My wife and I ate at Rabbit while we were visiting in London. We had the local and field set menu. The food and the service were both excellent. The wine pairings are fantastic as well and quite generous. We would definitely go back next time we’re here.

5/10My companion's food arrived and we were told mine was on the way. 15 minutes later it still had not arrived. They were very embarrassed and asked if we wanted to put his food under the heater until mine was ready. When my main course arrive it was tiny, I dont mean small, it was tiny, not even starter sized. It tased delicious but was in no way a main course size or value for money. I was very disappointed in a place I have been to many time before, I will not be going back

7/10The place was cozy. Our starters were tasty and good size. The main course was very small and nothing special (too much fat for my taste). Unfortunately not worth the price.

8/10The food was excellent. The staff were very nice and friendly but the service was quite slow. I also didn't appreciate the service charge that was included on the bill. I would have preferred to leave my own tip based on the service.

8/10A friend and I enjoyed a very pleasant meal here prior to an evening carol service. Both being in the wine trade, we were attracted by the connection with an English vineyard. We weren’t disappointed - a glass of decent fizz and some exceptional Bacchus, both from Nutbourne set things off nicely. (The not-unreasonably-priced-for-Chelsea Jaffelin Bourgogne we had with the mains was also a hit). The food was generally good - the starters and mains were all well received, though (as other reviewers have mentioned) the portion sizes are disappointingly small at the price points. The mushroom eclairs we had read about seemed a little stodgy, but tasted delightful. My venison main was cooked perfectly and my friend’s mushroom pasta was, by all accounts, wonderful. The Brussels Sprouts side was, it has to be said, incredibly moreish. So, overall, we enjoyed the food, which was flavourful and well executed (if nothing ground-breaking and a little expensive). Thumbs up for the compact but very well chosen wine list too. The service was friendly and just the right level of attentive - our waiter’s enthusiasm was clearly evident.

7/10Nice decor, reasonably good food, priced more for the location and the culinary ability, be prepared to be ‘moved on’ regardless of how much you spend - they are table rotation zealots
Rabbit • Owner
Hi, Jules! Thank you for your feedback. Regarding table rotation- unfortunately this is how all online booking systems work- you get an allocated time slot depending on the size of the party, which you were made aware of in your booking confirmation as well as when you arrived at the restaurant. As you may have noticed, Rabbit Restaurant is a really small space and during the festive period we unfortunately cannot guarantee that the table will be available for the whole evening, therefore we do have to keep up with the turn times. All of this you were fine with at the beginning of your stay with us, no idea why this had become a problem at the end of your meal. With best regards Team Rabbit

9/10Great chef - who actually served us most of the plates himself. Amazing staff and incredible service. I was really impressed with the wine list and the fact so much was available by carafe. I live in East London but I’d be happy to travel back all the way to dine here again.

7.5/10We were really looking forward to dinner - the menu looked exciting, different and delicious. Sadly it was a disappointment. None of the food was hot (barely warm) and the dishes all lost their appeal as a result. It was expensive too. It could all have been so much better.

6.5/10Delicious food, but service not great. We waited almost an hour to get our main course. We also waited too long trying to get the bill. You expect more if you are charged an 13.5% of service charge.

5/10Nothing special. Front of House Manager was very unfriendly/indifferent and preoccupied despite the fact that there were only two other couples/customers in the restaurant during the 1.5 hours we were there. He insisted on trying to seat us at the back of the restaurant when all the tables in the front/in the sunshine were empty. Wine list was only produced when he asked if we would ordering wine with our food. Decor is tired and place just smells dirty/fusty. I will not be returning. I loved this place when it first opened but cannot recommend it now.

6/10Not many choices on main courses. It took ages to serve one dish. Halibut and ox cheek are both good but the sauce of ox is very salty. Side dish (crispy cauliflower) is a bit too small and again very salty. No choice of salad or green vegetables.

5/10The prices are very over priced for what you get. We ordered a whole grouse and they cut off the legs and wings so no whole and misleading. The rump steak was very small and practically raw and they never ask how you would like it done. You have to have sides which bumps the price right up as the main dishes are so small with nothing other than the main dish. Overall not great and will not return.

9.5/10Rabbit is a cozy neighborhood spot. When full, it can get a bit loud and service can be frantic, but the quality of food is very high. I appreciate the local focus and the service is very personable, and friendly. As a Californian, I do wish, however, there were more raw vegetable starter options, but that isn't very British! Go - you will enjoy it.

10/10Good dinner with 2 friends/colleagues visiting from the States. They enjoyed it and I did too. Food and wine of very good quality. Menu’ a bit limited for people like me who gave up pasta£ white rice, but the halibut was great. Price Ok, for the food quality and location (not cheap) Service friendly and fast enough Recommended without hesitation

10/10This is a great little restaurant in a great location. We loved the atmosphere which was enhanced by the very friendly and efficient service. The food was delicious (generous portions for the Sunday Roast) and the wine choice was great. Particularly liked the opportunity to taste English wine from Nutbourne which was very good. Highly recommend.
