10/10Had a wonderful experience at Rebel restaurant. We were warmly welcomed & all staff were very friendly & attentive. My husband had wild smoked Trout for starters . Sunday dinner was exceptional, my daughter & I had beef with all the trimmings & my husband had the Pork .We had an Bramley Apple parfait & coffees to finish . We will definitely return after such a positive experience .

9/10I’d give six out of five for service if I could- friendly, instantly welcoming, helpful, prompt and genuinely enthusiastic. We had the excellent value Sunday lunch menu, beautifully balanced mackerel pâté and Welsh rarebit starters then melting slow roast belly pork with all the trimmings… by which time it was impossible to imagine pudding. A good glass of Provençal red (I believe, suggested as replacement for an out-of-stock Côtes du Rhône) and an Austrian orange wine which didn’t quite hit the mark - not as good as Georgian IMO, but not many are. A long narrow dining room that might be awkward but instead managed to accommodate family parties, couples and a party of colleagues in a warm and cosy space. I’d love to come back for the tasting menu which looks sensational.

A last minute spot led us to this small restaurant with big ideas. A warm welcome ensued with the Sunday lunch menu. The starters were a little limited but the main course of beef and the trimmings was spot on!

10/10As soon as we entered the restaurant we were given excellent service which was attentive but not obtrusive. The dishes were beautifully presented with attention to their visual appeal. And the food? Ah the food! Delicious with a real intensity of flavour and surprise! We will be back!

+1We enjoyed the whole evening from start to finish, the food was sublime - the fish course was the standout for me, but the lamb was a VERY close second. Wine choices were surprising and perfectly paired with the food. Three different English wines, which was a very pleasant change and all excellent. The Californian Pinot Noir was mind blowing and we’re ordering a case for home. The staff were knowledgable and very welcoming, even in their partner bar over the road where we saw them later! Music in the restaurant was right up my street too. I don’t have any negatives at all. A great night all round.

10/10Such a beautiful, intimate space with really thoughtful decor. The tasting menu was absolutely exquisite. Truly nuanced and subtle dishes but completely packed with flavour. Really impressive but completely delicious and satisfying. Not least of all the ingredients were locally sourced and super fresh. The host (and co-owner!) was so lovely, we felt very looked after and a little spoilt! Could not recommend more highly. Exceptional experience.

10/10I took two friends who had never been before and we loved it all. The food was exceptional and the staff worked hard to make sure we were happy. I can’t say enough about the food experience which was inventive and delicious. Chef Lindsay is really honing his craft.

10/10Awestruck by everything about Rebel. Am stuck for words. Each course an exquisite artwork, bursting with inventive flavours & textures & beautiful to look at. Top marks to chef Lindsay & his team. Waiting staff were wonderful too, explaining the intricate details of each course served. First time I have witnessed a professional Sommelier talking through the menu's wine flight with such knowledge & humour too. Great job Rosie! So much thought has gone into every aspect of this outstanding fine dining experience. Truly visionary & inspired!

10/10This restaurant is one of Newcastles latest highlights for fine dining foodies. A small, intimate restaurant creates a brilliant ambience. The selection of courses we were served were a brilliant mixture of flavours and ingredients. The chefs are really showcasing their work. The service was 10/10 and each servers enthusiasm for the dish is evident. All in all, a wonderful evening. We were celebrating my wife's 30th birthday, so was a really nice touch from Rebel to present a card from the team at the end of the meal. We will be returning.

9.5/10Lovely welcoming small restaurant. Small plates menu, Perhaps bread on the table would have helped enjoy some courses. Would have been nice to have sides with the mains. Food was really excellent and very tasty. Wine choice under £30 very limited! Menu needs magnifying glass.

9.5/10Great experience. This was more of a tasting menu style but all of the food was delicious. Knowledgeable staff explaining both the food & recommendations for suitable wine for the menu. It’s a fixed menu so no choices.

10/10This was my first visit to Rebel and I was bowled over by the food. The skill and attention to detail was incredible and everything tasted delicious. The staff were fantastic too. Highly recommend.

6.5/10Level of salt needs to be adjusted in some of the dishes and acidity ballanced to improve the taste. The presentation was excellent though meat dishes could benefit with an adforion of a sauce. Pleasant atmosphere overall.

Amazing food, delicious cocktails and wine. We enjoyed every course of the tasting menu, the staff were excellent at informing us about the food offering any advice. This was a birthday meal and it was well worth it!

9/10Fantastic little restaurant. Would highly recommend and definitely return. This was our first proper meal out since our wedding night at a 3* restaurant and the standards here were VERY impressive. Loved the relaxed atmosphere and some of the dishes (particularly the snacks to start) were really top end. Quirky wine pairing is worth getting. Staff fantastic. Next visit will try and get the chefs table. Keep up the excellent work.

10/10We thoroughly enjoyed the Valentines tasting menu. Nine courses, ranging from oysters to parfait, were delightful and they offered wine pairings. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience.

9/10The ambience was generally great. It is a very pleasant little place hidden away in Heaton. Staff were very welcoming, pleasant, knowledgeable about the food and professional. For us, the music was a bit loud but it did prevent us from hearing conversations from neighbouring tables. We have been to much more expensive Michelin-starred restaurants and the food we ate last week would not have been out of place. Every course was excellent. The only criticisms I have are that the venison was somewhat lost in the venison course and the jelly and custard could have done with a different texture - like something crunchy.

9/10It's a small gem hidden away in Heaton! Rebel makes high end dining feel relaxed and comfortable for everyone. They were super accommodating for our dietary requirements and the food was fantastic. We had the reduced menu and was still plenty to make you full, you don't feel like you're missing out. Worth a visit if you want to splurge!

7/10The food was lovely, unusual and tasty. Atmosphere and service was good. I would say we found the wine paring quite disappointing, the wine choices were unusual but I personally not for me. But more the size of the glass was not even half a small glass. When the cost is 45 each which could be 2 lovely bottles of wine it felt extremely overpriced for what you got. I have done numerous tasting menus with wine parings and hadn’t had that experience anywhere else. To the point I wouldn’t return which is a shame.

6.5/10Nice restaurant ambience, food was good but I wouldn’t say it was amazing. A little underwhelming to be honest. 8 course tasting menu, some courses lacked a little flavour. Staff were welcoming and polite.
