4.5/10Food was good. My husband pasta was amazing and my mixed grilled fish was nice, despite the tasteless sawed fish. However, the service really let us down. Even though we had a table booked and arrived on time, we still have to queue to get in. We were placed in what I wouldn’t describe as the best table in the house. My husband and I are quite tall and being squeezed in a corner was not fun. Some team members looked like they were offended when asked for something, actually, anything. Extra napkins? A puff. Tap water? A puff. Some extra slices of toast for a pate? A puff- we paid for it btw. The service was so rushed that between arriving and paying the bill, we stayed around an hour and 10 minutes. Considering that it was my birthday celebration dinner, I felt very disappointed with how the evening went.

7/10Well, I've been eating in this restaurant for few years now and I must say, yesterday was a bit disappointing. The food was okay, nothing special like it used to be once. It's becoming more and more touristic, not anymore for the fish lovers. The service was okay too, the girls do as much as they can, bless them. Am sorry but I won't go back there. Maybe they changed the chefs?

9.5/10Have been going to Regency for very many years...food is super, always fresh, good portions and prompt service. Waiters were a bit too hasty to clear our dishes on all courses the very second they were empty...I was literally still finishing my last mouthful of fish when our plates were whisked up and we were asked if I would like desert. Slow down a bit, please! Prices have gone up but that's how all eating out is ...can recommend.

5.5/10There was a waiter who was bit aged did not feel welcoming. He was waiting our table but seems really grumpy. Please smile a little. We had two children with us and they also noticed how grumpy he looks. This is one of our favourite places to have fish and chips. But last weekend's visit was not up to the mark.

8/10scallops starter amazing! £10 though is a bit expensive though. I think they should make the scallops as a main dish! Otherwise, a good sea food place to eat at and relax!

10/10Was recommended to visit by a local as the best fish place for fish and chips in Brighton. They were not wrong! Hospitality and service was excellent. The food portions were generous and wonderfully fresh and tasty. We have not long moved not too far from Brighton and this will be the spot we eat at as a family when we are visiting.

10/10We had a lovely meal at the Regency last Saturday. All the members of staff were so nice, professional and friendly. We had a mackerel pate to share to start with, followed by Cod and chips and a grilled lemon sole. Everything was fresh and well presented. We share an apple pie for dessert. The food was delicious and arrived very quickly and was nice and hot. We will definitely go back when we next go to Brighton. Thank you very much.

8/10We had a really nice time with tasty food. Beautiful setting and friendly welcome from staff. A lot of the small plates we found particularly salty though. The staff were pleasant although if we asked questions, we repetitively told to refer to the menu rather than have our questions answered, which felt a bit dismissive. With this in mind the 12.5% service charge left a bit of a sour taste… Otherwise a lovely meal, and I would recommend it!

3/10.poor quality ingredients. Some overcooked, others dangerously undercooked. when the menu states king prawns, it actually means king prawn...singular. Environmental Health should ne notified. Living on its one-time past reputation. Now an overpriced, misleading menu cheap fish and chippy....no more than that. AVOID, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

6/10The environment and staff were very nice. The food was served very quickly, and all appeared to be fresh. However, we ordered two starters that required bread to dip (pate and taramasalata). Both came with small portions of bread so we had to order more at extra cost to be able to finish the starter. I had the swordfish. Sadly this was a bit tough and felt overcooked. This was a birthday present to my husband and we had been looking forward to going to the regency for a long time as never been before. Am sad to say I am unlikely to go again.

10/10I would recommend reserving .unless your walking past and there's a few tables available. don't hesitate go in straight away .the food they serve here is fantastic. if you love seafood you must eat in this restaurant. it's outstanding.. x
