I waited quite a while to see if I would become more charitable. I did not.
I have eaten in this restaurant at least a dozen times. After every occasion, I have wondered why it had and had retained a Michelin*. It could not have been the mangling of ingredients so that only the menu writer and the servers knew what the food was supposed to be. Nor the skill of the chef in producing a desiccated thumb of turbot. Nor the unfortunate choice of accompaniments to the dishes. Nor the ability to produce a lukewarm expresso without crema.
The best things? The pâte de fruit and the Whitehole Springs water. The worst? The aftershave of the Head Waiter.
Time for an inspector revisit.
