We ordered the Fork Festival Set. The portion of food is good. The rice of green curry was too sticky, and service charge is rather high (near 15%).

9/10Birthday meal Took our daughter for her birthday meal had the mixed starter for three was very nice. Mains were chicken pad Thai, boozy noodles with belly pork and prawn red curry, the boozy noodles were very spicy but a little under done the other meals were good.

9.5/10A great place for a catch-up family lunch - staff were absolutely lovely and super welcoming. I always like Thai food and this was standout - even based on what two people could order with midday appetites, calamari with sweet chilli sauce was a cut above (super light and crispy squid, nicely smoky not-too-sweet sauce), pad thai was exemplary, and a spicy beef noodle soup was a perfect winter warmer with a delicious balance of spices. We really liked the 'Thai-PA' beer too with lime and lemongrass accents.

10/10Warm and welcoming. Food was fabulous- popcorn shrimp was delicious. We had 3 different pad Thais all very tasty and the duck and pineapple curry was fantastic. It was brilliant Rosa’s could cater for gluten and lactose allergies. Brilliant service. Highly recommend.

8/10Very nice Thai food, varied menu, food well presented. It would have been useful to know from the outset that some items were not available rather than at the point of ordering. Very quiet at 8pm on a Tuesday evening and at 9pm we were told the kitchen was closing. Overall a pleasant quiet dinner.

10/10So pleased we went to this lovely restaurant, it's so much bigger than it looks from the outside. It was nicely full, which was a good recommendation and there was a warm welcome. Both people serving us were very pleasant and efficient Pucca especially. The food was delicious, a nice size, hot and presented well. We'll definitely go back next time we're in York.

9.5/10Found this restaurant after reading reviews on trip advisor and decided to book it and we really enjoyed. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful in describing the meals. Our only gripe if there was one was that the restaurant itself was maybe more like cafe/extended take away than a plush restaurant. Would definitely recommend it though.

5/10Plastic plates, zero ambience. I visited Rosa’s Thai in Covent Garden a few years ago and loved the homely atmosphere and the sense that Rosa might emerge from the kitchen. I realise now wasn’t the first in the chain, but it felt loved and authentic. A few years later the chain has clearly grown into something entirely different - plastic plates and a table at the back of the restaurant felt like we were in the children’s corner. (The youngest in our party is 17. ) Also when I pre-booked I was asked about allergies so I noted my allergy to crustaceans. My booking was accepted, but when we arrived at the restaurant they said they couldn’t guarantee that any dishes would be free of allergens. Fortunately my allergy is mild, but for someone with a more severe allergy it would have been helpful to know in advance so that a booking with a restaurant with better controls could be made. Ironically our hotel in York was next to an independent Thai tapas restaurant with lovely decor and a very interesting menu. I wondered about moving our booking, but felt loyal to Rosa. Wish I had been better informed. Not a mistake I’ll make again.
