8.5/10We have been going to Saffron for chicken fesenjan for ages, and were delighted to see it back on the menu. The sauce is as sumptuous as ever, but the chicken was not cooked in it, but only added at the end, so it was uncomfortably dry. Everything else was delicious.

So far, I've been to Saffron twice and on both occasions the customer service has been first class, the staff are so friendly, so patient, so informative. This, all before I speak about the food which was full of flavour, seasoned and juicy. The lamb I had was cooked well, tasty and moist, far from being tough or dry... I would describe Saffron as a perfect location to take friends or family for a great evening of food and tea. It has become my new favourite restaurant in Richmond. Will return again soon.

10/10⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Saffron in Richmond has a cosy intimate atmosphere. Not a large/loud place, it is great for couples or small groups. The customer service was warm and friendly. The food was fragrant and flavourful. I had the lamb it was one of the best Lamb dishes I've ever had. Will return for sure, thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

9/10Lovely little restaurant with really nice home cooked food and generous portions. Took a little while to take our initial order including drinks and as it was lunchtime it wasn’t busy, hence the 4/5 rating for service. That said once we’d ordered, the food came promptly and certainly didn’t disappoint. Could possibly do with some more vegetarian options for main course but as there were a lot of veggie starters I just had a few of those and they were delicious. For a random find on google we were really pleasantly surprised

6/10On arrival, we didn't feel particularly welcomed. We chose to eat at an outside table as the weather was good - we were happy with this. We ordered a starter and two main courses and after quite a wait all the food was brought together - it felt as if our starter order had been forgotten, then remembered but too late to bring it before our main course! The food was OK but not exciting.

5.5/10This used to be such a good Persian restaurant We hadn't visited for some while and were expecting a treat but felt, well, not exactly welcomed upon our arrival at 5.30. It took over 10 minutes before we were even offered a drink, despite our being the only diners. The menu had changed significantly since before and frankly was little different from a lot of other similar restaurants. When our mail meal arrived the rice portions were ridiculous - far too much, which meant waste. What a shame, especially when there is so much culinary competition in Richmond. We really feel the staff should make a better effort to welcome and look after their customers. Sorry.

9.5/10Nice little restaurant. Very busy! Glad we made a reservation. Staff were friendly and attentive And the food was delicious& a lot if it.. Perhaps less rice would be better. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family. Look forward to revisiting.

7/10The food was fresh, the starters, particularly the mixed salad, delicious. The vegetarian bamiyeh was lacking in spice and flavour and there were few veggie options. The service was very friendly and efficient and minor mistakes rectified quickly - I ordered the bamiyeh not realising there was a meat version which is what I got. They swapped it quickly for a veggie version. If I went back I would just have starters for main course as well.

10/10The food was delicious. The service was friendly, welcoming and the staff were helpful. It's a small restaurant but clean and comfortable. I went with friends who had not had Persian food before but were willing to try something different to kebabs. We ordered 3 different dishes and 3 different starters and asked for them to come together (a bit like a Greek Meze) and despite the extremely generous sizes we finished all of it! Definitely going back.

We have visited Saffron several times before but not since before Covid, so it was lovely to come back and find it every bit as good as before. The service was very good, the food was delicious and the prices are fair for the area. The mast mosir and mize gharshami with bread are our favourite starters. The kebabs are so tasty and the rice is always perfectly cooked.

10/10Little restaurant with tasty and full Of flavour food. I highly recommend vine leaves starter and later chicken with saffron rice. Delicious. Everything finished with nice pot of Persian mint tea perfectly served in traditional glass.
