Very disappointed with the lack of vegetables. We ordered beef cheeks which was served with a few carrots and a small amount of mashed potato. We asked for additional veg and was served a few more carrots. We noticed brocoli was on one of the choices but we were not allowed it. The beef was so rich with the jus it needed more veg but not more carrots!!! The dessert was also very rich, dark chocolate fondue it needed ice cream or cream which we had to order separate!! which made it an expensive dessert. We were not happy about service charge being automatically added to the bill when it should have been optional. A very pleasant setting and exceptional service from the male waiter who was very helpful and friendly.
Thought we’d eat here on our first night at the Hilton. The service was good but rather slow. The restaurant was full and everyone was wearing jackets as it was so cold. Problems with the air-con apparently. The food was very average, lamb kebab starter more like a sausage, chicken satay sauce was thin & bland, lamb shank cooked well but cous cous bland & not much sauce made it all dry, beef cheek ok, cheescake was good. For £95 we’d have expected more, especially in the Hilton. We won’t be back.
Food was good & a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Service was slow, items forgotten etc which made me feel 12.5% service charge was undeserved.
I have eaten here many time and it never disappoints. Even with a limited lunch menu, the food is always exceptional value and the service is always good.
The service and food was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Bournemouth. It was very clear and explained to us regarding all the covid measures that were in place to keep us safe. Our waiter Daniel was attentive and very pleasant. The whole visit was very enjoyable.
The staff was really friendly and courteous. Food was delicious and service fast. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Bournemouth. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and makes the perfect setting for lunch or dinner.
Service was very good, however the menu was extremely limited to pizza or panini . Due to it being a special occasion it was a little disappointing. Very friendly helpful staff though .
We had a lovely family meal tonight and enjoyed the food and friendly professional service. It’s a while since we have been but we are glad we went back again...thank you ????
For a Hilton hotel I expected the food to be a lot better, the menu was very limited yet very over priced for what was essentially chicken and chips. Food is average! Wouldn’t go back!
The restaurant is a part of the hotel servicing hotel guests. When we arrived it was full of children milling around the place which undermined the atmosphere and the advertised premium feel of the venue. The food was nice but not as good as expected. Some of the ingredients were missing and the menu was limited. Waiters were excellent and we even got a discount on the wine because the wine we chose was not available. Not good enough in my opinion considering the location and expectations - felt very much like complacency had set in and diners taken for granted. I cannot imagine we will return unless changes made.
We have come here numerous times and every time the food and service is amazing. We are never disappointed and never had a bad meal here. Above and beyond.
The food was great and they had brilliant members of staff. There was a high hygiene level so we felt safe from Covid. We were also late and they still maintained our booking and were very accommodating.
Really disappointed in the food and the service waited 20 minutes for a drink
Been here many times before but this time very disappointed, food and service mediocre, know this is a challenging time at present but the menu was very uninspiring, Hilton should do better !!
The staff were very nice & friendly Very limited menu I appreciate, but hadn’t realised when I booked how little choice there was My Fish chowder had hardly any fish - very ooor for that sort of restaurant The COVID-19 policy was way overboard in my opinion They had to poot the food at the edge of the table & we had to pass around ourselves Even though they were wearing masks Very extreme on tables of 2 only Hilton needs to have acre-think
Ok this is a just out of lockdown review so they may improve but service was slow. Drinks were placed a long stretch away on the other side of the table. Dinner didn’t come with the option of veg. Skybar wasn’t open and a little mean with replacement drink. Food was decent, but certainly not fine dining. We were on a groupon coupon but it would certainly not have been worth full whack. May sound snobbish but there were a lot of chavs about so not much of an ambience. Overall, would expect better from Hilton brand.
Stood waiting a while to be seated, then waited a while for drinks & Food order to be taken, I realise staff are limited at this time, but only about 8 tables. The chief worked really hard & was very friendly, I had a voucher so that’s why I booked here !
Dined with family for my birthday.
Great service, great location and the food was excellent. I had crab arancini for a starter and duck breast for main. My hubby had mackerel and then lemon sole. All meals were delicious and we will definitely go back again.
Disappointed, wont be returning I was so looking forward to this night out, booked almost 2 months ago. Waited for over 5 minutes before being greeted, lovely welcoming gentleman showed us to the table. Waited for an age before someone took our drink order, the cocktail we wanted was not available, 2nd choice which took over 20 minutes to be presented with a limp cocktail that was brutally ruined by extreme and unnecessary over use of mint garnish. More than an hour and dinner arrived, a risotto on a plate?! My friends duck was very pink, when she sent back asking for it to be cooked a little more, I was almost finished by time her dish was returned in a tiny dish and all garnishes removed. We though wine would ease our pain, first choice not available, 2nd choice (nice pinot grigot) took another 20mins to arrive... Desert was a mini selection, no explanation of what was what and all a little non descript and disappointing. Service was polite, slow, inexperienced and disappointing. Sadly really disappointed, assumed Hilton association would ensure quality . Would I recommend or return, no.
