Went for the science themed afternoon tea. Upon arrival the waiter seemed unaware one member of party had allergies despite phoning to check this twice before arrival. This created a bit of anxiety as we were waiting a while as they checked with kitchen before confirming this was ok. However once another waitress took control of situation and reassured us the experience was very positive. Food was exceptional and the service given by waitress was first class.

The food was excellent and the experience well thought through to make it fun for the participants and science related. Both the standard as well as the gluten free options. Visitors should note that the published prices exclude taxes and service which will be included at the end.

Vegan afternoon tea was a little disappointing due to dry bread and dry vegan sausages. The “burger” was unfortunately soggy.

Absolutely lovely in every way. Wonderful service, beautiful space. The food was delicious. We had one regular tea service and one gluten-free. We both loved every bite. There were some fun bits that made it the Science tea, which I will leave as a surprise. It was very quiet on a rainy weekday afternoon, which we did not mind at all, but I feel like this tea should be sold out on a regular basis. I have only good things to say.

What a great experience we had at the Science Experiment tea with a 9 year old and 11 year old. The Drawing Room was cozy. Our waitress was wonderful, and the hands-on experience was great for the kids.

The Science Afternoon Tea is well thought out and fun, especially with children. The children’s menu is excellent and copious. Doggy bags are easily provided. And the “experiments” such as make your own lemonade, or the dinosaur dig, make it special. Not to mention the dry ice. A slightly wider choice of teas, especially China teas, would be nice.

This was an absolutely incredible experience. The setting is beautiful, the service attentive and thoughtful and the science 'experiments 'a joy. My daughter and I will remember this for a long time. Best paired with a visit to the very close by Natural History museum

Staff were lovely and friendly. Food was delicious too. Was initially put off by the amount of young children there, but they were all pretty well behaved. Would happily go back -the afternoon tea was lovely and very inventive.

We were seated and waited 30 minutes for before our order was taken. My daughter was hungry and bored. She was given a very stale jam sandwich which was unedible. The rest of the food was good. The make your own lemonade was awful. She enjoyed the sweat dishes. The good part of the menu is that certain aspects are refillable, but not all. Overall, a bit disappointed, especially considering the price (£104 for 1 child and 1 adult). They add on 11% service on top of the bill.

The experience was wonderful and so much fun. The food was excellent and very creative. We loved the science-aspect of it. Doing our own chemistry experiments and excavating the little surprise at the end. The service was ever present and attentive.

The science tea was fun but for one adult tea and three child ones the bill came to £187 (they added £20 service without option) which was excessive for the amount of food provided. We were celebrating a birthday so it was a special occasion but we could have had a really good restaurant dinner for that price. There was not a huge variety in the menu and most of it was extremely sweet - to the extent that we struggled to finish it and all felt sick by the end. One of the items on the kids selection was a jam sandwich, which did not seem worth the expense. The hot dog was also in a dry bun with no sauces and very basic. There were two scones, which was too many for children to manage. Most of the selection was really sickly sweet. More small savoury items in the adult selection, for example the salmon blinis or similar, would have been easier to manage than big filled rolls and multiple scones . The dry ice was a nice touch. There was a lot of ‘glue’ on the stands to keep everything in place. It was unclear if this was edible but my children ate it anyway. They liked the test tubes and petri dishes and syringes. The lemonade experiment tasted revolting - at least if children are going to mix things to make a drink it would be good to supply ingredients that actually taste nice once combined. We had fun but I don’t think I would book anything like that again as it felt very overpriced for what it was.

This was a very entertaining take on high tea and my grand children found it fascinating and enjoyable. An hour was just about the right time though as they did not really manage to eat very much of the very rich food and abundance of sweet things. However their report back to parents was very positive and the occasion will be a fond memory.

The Science Afternoon Tea has been on my bucket list for some time. My children have allergies, so the staff acknowledged this well and their service was attentive and responsive. The novelty of the science theme was fun and creative, the kids enjoyed it. I felt (in my opinion) that it was more style over substance. I'm not a fan of fridge cold sandwiches (that's my preference) and I wasn't wowed by the taste of the puds, especially for the price you are paying! They do give refills so there is plenty to eat. The tea selection we had was lovely. I'm glad that I have been and tried it.
