4.5/10When you arrive there are 2 bottles of water on the table which they start serving you before you can say no. These are £5 each. So an extra £10 on the bill that I never agreed to. Not going back

9.5/10I had the most delightful experience enjoying the Science Afternoon Tea at The Drawing Rooms in the Ampersand Hotel. The attention to detail was exceptional – from the beautifully presented themed treats to the elegant setting and friendly, attentive staff. Each item on the stand was not only delicious but also creatively linked to a scientific concept, which made the whole experience both fun and memorable. The scones were warm and perfectly baked, and the selection of teas was excellent. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and charming afternoon tea in London.

10/10We really enjoyed the whole experience. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made the experience that extra bit magical. It was a beautiful hotel and just a short walk from Kensington tube station. The food was out of this world and really tasty. Overall I would highly recommend and would come again.

The best high tea I have ever had! Not only was everything delicious, but the entertainment value was priceless. My ten-year-old daughter was entranced by the dry ice and all the activities to make her food and drink. It was the perfect thing to do after a morning at the museums.

5.5/10I was disappointed with the science element of the event I expected a lot more than there was I’m afraid. It was Also expensive and I don’t think value for money. The service was good but I’m sorry I was expecting better food with alot more. It was over £100 for my granddaughter and myself and I know she too was disappointed.

We live in the States and this was our first afternoon tea experience. We can’t say enough good things about it! We had 8 and 10 year old boys and they thoroughly enjoyed all the science themed foods! The food was excellent for adults and kids, and the service was incredible. Highly recommend!

10/10We travelled from Scotland for my daughter’s 9th Birthday, this afternoon tea has already made it all the more special, it’s an experience she won’t ever forget. The staff are so attentive and kind. The food was just amazing, there was nothing left on either my afternoon tea or my daughters. Great value and unforgettable experience, can’t wait to come back one day! Thank you!

4.5/10The vegetarian sausage was rock solid, inedible, the spaceship for the kids was also burnt to a crisp and the planet was frozen through so you couldn’t cut it. The food was not worth it at all.

10/10The service in this place is absolutely outstanding. The whole experience was so incredibly lovely. Our children loved it so much and we fully enjoyed ourselves. The food is also of great quality and you get a lot of it. They offer a box of all the leftovers which is also just great. Really and truly overall one of our favourite experiences while visiting London.

10/10Really nice experience. The food and the tea were very good (we had vegan and regular, adult versions). Service was very attentive (I have food allergies and it felt very safe) while remaining discreet. The atmosphere was very festive, with kids and adults both enjoying the science theme. Strongly recommend.

6.5/10It was ok. Lots of tables and people crowded into the space. We have 3 kids and they were told they had to share the lemonade making, which was the first thing that came out. For the amount you pay, it would seem each child could have their own lemonade, but no, so they were frustrated. The food was very low quality - stale cookies and such. The boxes with chocolate powder and dino cookies to "excavate" were super cute but we were told our children had to share one brush to do it, so again there was frustration since there was nothing else to do while waiting. Overall it was ok, not amazing but not terrible. I don't think we will do it again or recommend it to friends.

6/10Lovely setting and the high tea looks incredible for kids. But unfortunately it doesn’t really taste good. Lots has been made in advance en kept cool, so the food tastes like fridge and is quite dry.

I'm not sure how but there ended up being some confusion when ordering as we only received one tea, and when we asked if the second one was on its way our server hadn't realised we wanted two. We had ordered two drinks but she had thought we were going to share one tea and I'm not sure why. In any event, the second one came out within 10 minutes. I had a gluten-free and lactose-free tea which they were able to accommodate. The egg sandwich with a truffle essence was my favourite sandwich, followed by the chicken. The sandwiches were standard sliced bread triangles for my tea which was less visually exciting than the tea without any dietary needs, which had a more elaborate savoury selection with two buns, a blini, and mini quiche. However, it was very tasty and more importantly didn't make me ill so I was happy. The 'science' element of the tea provided a fun/different interactive element which sets it apart. The tea is served in one room with two sections on the ground floor.

Went for my birthday. The scones and buns were dry and unappealing. We suspect they were yesterday’s, or had been left too long in the oven. The jellies tasted rather bad, and while very pretty, the planet cakes were really nothing but cream and frozen jam. Our kids (who had been looking forward to the experience) left scones and cakes almost untouched after the first bites. Apart from some theatrics when the Science Afternoon Tea is served, and a bit of fun digging out chocolate dinosaurs from a tin for the kids, this had nothing going for it. Absolutely not worth the price. The staff was friendly, but their English wasn’t great, making it hard to understand the introductions.

10/10Fantastic idea, well thought out. Gluten free and vegan options can be ordered on the day. Excellent customer service. Disappointed that the bottles of water on the table as we arrived weren't included on the price and we weren't warned that we'd have to pay £5 for still water. I would have ordered tap water, if I'd been informed.

Absolutely incredible visit for my friend's birthday, couldn't fault it! Service was on point just the right amount of attentiveness. Very immersive and interactive (loved the lemonade) and all the food was gorgeous. Atmosphere was well crafted and comfortable too. Although it is on the pricier side, definitely worth the money and it was nice that the hot drinks were unlimited too. The variety of menu options is great for vegans, vegetarians and non-gluten diets. Having had the vegan menu, I felt very included and that the same amount of effort was put in as the ordinary menu which was lovely. Recommending this to anyone who is considering it!

3.5/10Awful and over priced for a very disgusting tea adults and children. No flavour just sugar at best. No understanding of children. Terrible grey tea waited an hour for a mocha and then called it. Decaf and caffeinated tea was terrible the teapot went cold waiting for it to get some colour. Adult sandwiches were not good. Desserts had no flavour hard scones (basic) 2 adults one child nearly £200 for trash!!

10/10The science themed afternoon tea was excellent! The kids menu was so thoughtfully designed and executed, with perfect options for kids. The interactive aspects and cleverness of the menu made it so much fun and it was all very delicious. The adult menu was also very clever, fun and delicious. 10/10This was a great experience for our 4 year old. He did expect some more "science projects", but I thought it was a nice experience and it was nice to sit and relax for a bit. The hotel had a great ambiance and the staff was great. The area was easy to get to from the History museum. I definitely thought this was worth it because you could also ask for more of some of the items and the tea was great. I wanted to do the Peppa bus but this was better for our little guy.
