    We didn't even know this restaurant existed! Lovely setting, great service and the food was lovely. Really quick and the food was nice and hot. Would really recommend the fish & chips! Thankyou :-)

    Friendly staff, great tasty food! Would definitley return when next in Edinburgh. Even better at the moment with 50 percent off. Nice views of Edinburgh too!

    Covid pandemic so the atmosphere was as good as it could get. Food and service was very good.

    I need to try and keep this in the context of the current restrictions but from start to finish it was a disappointment. The one positive I will acknowledge is that guidelines were well observed. The speed of service was slow and the staff appeared uninterested in customer experience. My requested sirloin was unavailable as they did not have any steaks. My reluctant alternative choice of haggis looked absolutely disgusting when served but in fairness it did taste rather nice. The Cullen Skink was rated as delicious, the prawn cocktails as average as was the chicken breast. The only ambiance was provided by the three-chime announcement that another dish was ready in the kitchen. I waited 10 minutes after requesting the bill before walking towards the exit - a tactic I often resort to when my tolerance has been exhausted. As expected, this achieved the desired result of some attention. A 10% service charge had been added based upon the pre-discount total so this quickly becca 20% charge after discount. Given the experience I requested the charge be removed and this was done without debate. A restaurant which I feel has huge potential but simply failed totally to make any attempt to deliver an experience which would encourage a return visit. Perhaps the model is based upon the the single expected visit of the tourist where satisfaction really doesn’t matter.

We implemented a very strict cleaning protocol and the team works hard every day to meet the guidelines. We will adjust the volume of the kitchen bell. Unfortunately because of the current ban on music in bars and other hospitality venues, we can’t play any background music, therefore the sound of the bell must have been more noticeable.     We asked for a cocktail each when we arrived but they took a while to bring them In fact the starter arrived first. Not quite the way it should have been Food was very good though

    The restaurant is spacious and very clean and tidy. The staff are courteous and welcoming and can’t do enough for you. The food is of an excellent standard, well presented and served punctually. The table we were given was next to a window giving us beautiful views over Princes Street and The Gardens and a wonderful nighttime view of Edinburgh Castle all lit up. All in all a we had a great evening and dining experience.

    Got the steak, asked for medium rare and got basically well done. Got 50% off the bill but they forgot to mention that charge you 10% service charge. Which I think is ridiculous, as we had a different server every minute, and they took ages to come get our food order and also take away our food. There was no atmosphere. Apart from a very loud door bell that’s rings a random time through out the meal. Awful experience. So many better places near by for a much better price. do not recommended.

    A lovely view, great service and nice food. Tasty and local, only letdown was the temperature which suggested it had been reheated in a Microwave

    Awful food- not worthy at all!!! It was very quite and even that the staff was very distracted, forgetting what we asked. The real problem was the food!!

    The restaurant was clean and staff attentive we were allowed to move to a more desirable table than the one offered. I was disappointed with some of the food for the price. The bread was hard and wet on the bottom. I feel some light background music was needed. I was also unhappy that a service charge was added without obvious warning as I prefer to leave a tip according to my satisfaction.

    It was an amazing restaurant, the food and service were outstanding. The Cullen skink and grilled salmon were out of this world, as were the smoked salmon and fish and chips.

    The menu provided on the night was shorter than the menu we had seen on the website. The salmon dish chosen had too many very small prawns and was rather overwhelmed by the potatoes. On the menu it was stated that the olives starter also had jalapeños yet none were on the plate. The refurbishment is good to see but the meal was disappointing in comparison to meals taken there before. We were glad we had to leave early when a very large group of school children entered the restaurant which changed the ambiance to that of a food court with all the noise.
