First time we came here to dine. We were welcomed and sat down straight away at our table. There was no service with a smile. The waiter seemed like he didn’t want to be there. They took ages to take our food order and then it took ages for our food to come out. I got chicken kebab which was ok. My husband choose the lamb kebab which was very fatty. The sweet potato fries were the best part of the meal. I can’t say I will be rushing back anytime soon.
No front of house when we arrived and they weren’t interested in checking our booking. The printed food menu didn’t include children’s options which actually were available upon request. All in all, organisation seemed poor in my opinion. Food was good however the high chair was filthy and I was glad I had my own antibacterial wipes on me.
We got there for 630 and it didn’t appear too busy. It took 20 minutes to get service for a drink and we didn’t receive our food Until over an hour after we arrived. The waiter was apologetic when asked. The food was ok a rare steak asked for was medium, and the sauce in the mussels was different to what was asked but not the end of the world
Head waiter was rude unorganised and abrupt Food was tasty but cold . Setting is beautiful and the best thing about the place
Looking forward to a summer night on the lovely terrace. The view was great but unfortunately the service really let the place down. We were constantly asked for our order & the fact we were taking a while as we were chatting, this clearly annoyed the waiter. We did order & got our starter which was lovely but then had a ridiculous wait (about 50 mins) for our mains. After asking twice with no apology for the delay, were told it would be 10 minutes, but 20 minutes later it eventually arrived, again with no apology. We had the fish platter which was nice but nowhere near as good as it used to be. Although the view was fab, I won't be returning any time soon!
The food was disappointing ( eg A ‘Greek salad side’ was just a few lettuce leaves adorning the plate?!) and the service and atmosphere were not as good as usual I anticipate they have to work with less staff now due to covid but they should make this clear at the outset so guests know there will be delays in service . They also need to do something to enhance the atmosphere at the mo (with better lighting .. music ) to create a warmer feel as less tables/guests in the restaurant. The outside area needs an overhaul - it looks scruffy yet has so much potential with the incredible view . Sorry I know this is a really tough time for the hospitality industry.
We were given a table by the windows overlooking Heswall shore. It was a fine evening so the table provided lovely views. We chose to share a seafood platter and were not disappointed as there was a variety of dishes offered. From the ciabatta bread with oil and balsamic to the mussels, giant prawns, and deep fried whitebait the food was fresh and tasty and represented great value for money. Pity we were too full to try a dessert.... the selection looked fabulous.
Excellent food. Fine dining. Superb service. A great night. Would definitely recommend. Good value for money
