3/10They didn’t want to accept my booking and offered me a table only if I walk-in, when asked why, they said that booking is only allowed for the following day and they don’t accept booking for today! I said no as this will show as “cancelled or no show” so I insisted on them accepting my booking, other member of staff showed up and said they don’t accept online booking because restaurant is busy, at the time of me walking in, only three tables were busy and the restaurant is empty. Prawns katsu was tasteless served with what I believe was a beef or chicken broth, rice was ok, chicken katsu was flavourless, matcha smoothie was more of a water with some artificial flavours. Service is very slow, it took them 32mins to bring my dish to the table, table itself was slimy and sticky.

9.5/10I was Happy that our table was ready even when we arrived a bit early. Service was great, food was good but I think that the kids menu could be a bit better to be excellent. I ordered one ramen without egg but both plates were with it.

2/10The buns that the chicken were served in were hard and somehow tough, chicken itself was more fried and soaked in oil with hardly any chicken meat in, prawns were more of little shrimps than prawns, the chicken katsu ramen was average, it was more of a tasteless soup with tons of soggy noodles and ginger thrown in, the chicken katsu curry was too dry and it’s sauce was very thick and looked more of uncooked chicken stock. Service was very slow.

Having visited Japan last year it was nice to find a traditional Japanese ramen restaurant in the centre of London, with a reasonable priced menu. Very delicious ramen. Saw tempura prawns in a photo on your website, sadly couldn’t see them on the menu clearly listed as Tempura choices… Sad not to of had these… Quite basic seating and tables in a tight space but loves all the lanterns and wood slat interior- could of been back in Tokyo 🇯🇵♥️ We will return

5/10Food was uneven. Some of the entrees were OK (buns..) Disappointed by the ramen which were 85% noodles. Wasexpecting more greens with the chicken. There were 6 of us so this was the case for all of us. Service was slow due to. Cooks having to prepare food for deliveroo in addition to sitting customers.

8.5/10I booked the table for three people 2 days in advance, as it was bday/leaving lunch of my work colleague but upon arrival we found out its a table for two, with additional chair. It was not ideal as there really was not enough space for three of us, and when I stated in that in fact it is actually table for two, the waitress confirmed, but said they don't have any other table, nor they can join 2 tables. I was quite surprised, as that was the main reason, why I booked the table in advance, so we are able to sit comfortable. After around 10 minutes the waitress came back and offered us another, more suitable table. When we sat down the order was taken promptly, but the drinks took a while (arrived after starters). Food arrived within reasonable time, but no one check back on us, whether we received everything, do we like the food, would we like to order anything else, or offered second drinks (my glass was empty halfway the meal), no desserts offered either. There was not much of an interest in our experience and we felt like the basic service standards weren't met. Only upon our departure, when we flagged we would like to pay, the waitress who took the payment, asked how the food was. It was my first visit in this establishment and although the food was really good I will probably go to different branch next time.

5/10The restaurant has a set menu of 1 Ramen, 2 coops of Ice cream and 1 cocktail priced at £24. This was exactly what I ordered but ended up spending £8 more. The waiter did not inform about the set menu and when we asked for a refund, the requested was rejected. And of course, we were still charged a service fee at 12.5%.

5/10Very poor for a vegetarian. Ramen bowl with great tasting broth but it ended there. Noodles, soy mince and two pieces of Pak choy does not a ramen bowl make. My friends seafood and chicken ramen were garnished and had several varieties of veggies as well as the seafood and chicken. Disappointing and over priced for what was offered. Bored of being treated like a second class diner.

7/10The food is excellent and prepared quickly. The menu is diverse enough and the prices are ok. However, the service can be improved. Our waiter did not smile once and made a mistake in our order (fortunately we ended up with the right drinks when he realised). For a 12,5% service fee, you expect better (around £25 for us). I showed the manager that there is a mistake on their website about the happy hour when you type the name of the place on google, no commercial gesture. We had to remind her that she forgot to make one of us pay, no commercial gesture. Book in advance to avoid the queue, the food is worth it !!

7/10Lovely restaurant and delicious food, unfortunately officious staff. Despite booking we were rudely shouted at to get back outside and stand behind the door and then ignored for 5 minutes! Probably should have left but needed lunch for 4 on a Saturday so it was easier to wait!

I have NEVER been to a Shoryu in all the time the restaurants have existed, and was very excited to discover its food with my husband. The setting in Kingly Court was a good call - the vibe, sights, sounds and smells all added to the experience. The teriyaki chicken was tasty but nothing extraordinary, just like the baos my husband ordered. I had the miso wafu chicken ramen which was a really big portion (for me), and really delicious. The service from staff was friendly, quick and despite being 18 minutes late (thanks Google Maps) I was very pleasantly surprised when the lady at reception seated us in a cosy part of the restaurant away from the crowd - she could have turned us away re their bookings and late arrivals policy. Unfortunately, for the prices, I really don't feel I would be back for second helpings.
