Food is excellent but service has room for improvement. We booked a table and arrived on time, and saw a few tables available, but we were asked to sit on counter. I requested a table and noticed no bookings at other table at all . It was 2:30pm Sunday at Oxford. Finally i and my wife got a table very close to the next table of two. This is clearly not the best table we could get with booking

Early evening dinner for 2 at 5pm. Both ramen and Katsu curry were both tasty and reasonable sized portions. As were our Bao bun and octopus starters. Despite booking with Yums, the restaurant initially told us they were only accepted in their London restaurants, so II settled our bill in full. After speaking with the manager, he agreed to refund our 2000 yums in the form of a £50 note. All goid in the end and would re-visit if in Oxford in the future. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for 5pm on a Monday.

Just got back from an early dinner at this place and had to write this review. This was my first time eating Japanese cuisine and so I went with a friend and an open mind. What a great first experience! The service staff were attentive and so polite and courteous… rushed off their feet as it was pretty full but still smiling and always approachable. The food exceeded my expectations - we both had the vegetarian sweet potato croquette curry with rice and it really was so tasty and satisfying. We also had the cucumber starter and it was fresh and flavourful. The raspberry mocktail I ordered was the only thing with which I was unimpressed. It was nothing more than a normal glass of some cordial with sparkling water which for £6 was quite extortionate. I’ll be back for the food again for sure!

We booked a table via The Fork. We were welcomed promptly and shown to our table, the waiter explained the menu and left. No one came to take our order for quite long time. We thought we have to do it by scanning the code on the table… eventually husband went to see a member of staff and placed an order. The restaurant became very busy hence waiting time for food was longer than expected. Starters very tasty, ramen too however the waiter mixed up the bowls… no room for dessert.

Food was good, not excellent but a decent ramen. There’s not much to say about the service, it’s adequate for this type of establishment. They do keep you waiting an extraordinarily long time to acknowledge you’ve arrived, which, is a little disconcerting.

Lovely food, super lovely staff. Highly recommend it! I loved that the staff say “Irasshaimase” like the restaurants do in Japan, and my husband loved their signature dish. Five stars!

Lovely food, but service is often slow. It’s easy to feel forgotten while the servers focus on clearing tables. Maybe they just need more staff during the busy times?

Food was really good. Staff were inattentive, rude. We had to ask twice for water. It took 40 minutes for two scoops of ice cream to be served. Once it arrived there was no apology for the delay.

Lack of staff as always, not only because this time is boxing day, but it happens to us every time. We had to wait for 1.5 hour from being led to our seat to arrival of food, when the tables are only 30% full. Hope the management acknowledges the situation and improve, as this will increase your overturn too. However, the food quality is really good, so I would say, still worth the wait for me.

The staff were great, the food was excellent and great location and decor. Only thing I didn’t like was how noisy and echoey it was. Quite difficult to hear each other at the table.

Reserved a table but was asked to sit at the bar place for the whole time, and the staff didn’t bother making an effort to rearrange. Have been to this shop many times, and this time got the worst experience. Very disappointed.

Decent food. Pork belly was more like minced pork, but good. Great atmosphere. Incorrect food order ("same for me" = the same as previous, not to share the previous lol) overall good
