There was a lovely atmosphere. We were seated in a perfect spot. We had a champagne afternoon tea to celebrate an engagement. The service was good and the staff very friendly. I would certainly go again.

Friendly, efficient and attentive service. High quality food and a good wine list. The NZ Sauvignon was delicious though not cheap. Lovely sunny day with beautiful view over the town.

Came for my partners birthday and was very disappointed. It started well the location was great and we both had starters which were good. We had the roasted mushrooms and my partner had the pate. But the mains were not great the half roast chicken was dry and the chips were vile I’ve never tasted anything like it, they tasted dry maybe they were reheated. I mean from a restaurant of this standard I expect them to be able to cook chips. Probably won’t return as there are much better restaurants for half the price.

Amazing service from Ed who made my boyfriends birthday extra special by arranging a happy birthday surprise which I didn’t even request! Very thoughtful !

The afternoon tea was quite disappointing. We loved the location and the food was nice, just nothing special and certainly not worth the price. Service was lacklustre and the staff seemed disinterested although the restaurant wasn’t busy; tables were left uncleared long after people had finished. Our visit was meant to be a treat but it just wasn’t special in any way sadly.

Great experience. Booked for my sons birthday and requested best window seat available. We had a great double window seat in a corner and they remembered my booking as the put a happy birthday sign in my sons desert along with a candle.....great touch. The service was excellent and the food very enjoyable.

Very poor service - touching the guest’s food in front of them isn’t ok. Food barely better - dry sandwiches (makes sense when your afternoon arrives within minutes, you know it’s been waiting all day for you), overly sweet cakes.... No rectification or no gesture from management

The food and service were excellent... I met up with an old friend I hadn't seen for a long time and we weren't rushed. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. I had the gluten free afternoon tea which was delicious and great variety of cakes. The scones were gorgeous. Views were lovely.

We went to Six to celebrate my husband’s birthday on a Sunday evening. I was slightly disappointed not to have been seated by the window, despite booking a couple of weeks in advance, but the restaurant is lovely nonetheless. A great ambiance, and calming decor. Staff were great; our main waitress, Elizabet(h?) was fantastic. She let us know it was one of her first shifts, but we never would have known. She was very attentive and kept us informed of a slight delay with our main course. The food was gorgeous, as were the cocktails. We thoroughly recommend it; we will back in the Spring or Summer - hopefully we will get to experience the amazing views we’ve heard about, too!

Overall we had a nice dinner but there were pitfalls. The cocktails were watery - in particular, the bramble was like robinsons blackcurrant squash. The food was nice apart from my friends shepherds pie which was nothing short of utter disappointment. It was a small square of mince with a lumpy layer of mashed potato on top and drowned in gravy. I would suggest this dish is reviewed as most people order a shepherds pie as comfort food but there was very little comforting about this version, other than the fact you could’ve used the gravy as a bath.
