We left without eating. It's a hotel lobby. Couple of people sitting drinking and reading the paper. Menu is very small.
I was bought afternoon tea vouchers for this hotel as a Christmas present. Staff were friendly and polite. Afternoon tea was excellent, a good choice of sweet and savoury. The scones were really nice. I would in the future consider a stay at this hotel for a longer period of time.
This was a Xmas gift , a voucher for a meal consisting of steak and chips!! plus a glass of wine , nothing more nothing less. We found the experience a pleasant one.
My sister and I had afternoon tea at Monboddo. The restaurant itself is lovely and the staff were welcoming. The afternoon tea however was quite disappointing. We have tried many afternoon teas in Edinburgh and I like those that have a home made and personal touch. The presentation was very bland with not much colour and didn’t look very appealing. The sandwiches were ok but not enough of them and may have been nice to have an additional savoury option such as a tartlet. The scones were small and didn’t look home made and the cakes were dry and not very visually appealing. Coupled with the fact we had to ask for our tea rather than being offered choices, it made for a rather disappointing experience. There is a lot of room for improvement in Hilton afternoon teas in general. We have been to 3 Hilton hotel afternoon teas and have been disappointed in them all. The best afternoon teas are visually appealing with an added personal touch to make them feel like more of a special experience.
Food was good well presented
disappointing having afternoon tea in a bar along with workmen from nearby builing site, white bread sandwiches very boring, unappertising fillings. slow service
Went for afternoon tea very enjoyable x staff very attentive
We had afternoon tea for four with a lovely glass of prosecco. Booking was straightforward, service just perfect, setting very relaxed and tea and food very nice.
Fantastic staff and food
Are you kidding? I booked a table at the Bread Street Brasserie only to find out that a) it's a hotel restaurant and b) it was booked for a private function. So we were seated in the hotel bar. Service was very slow but very polite. Atmosphere dreadful. One of our party ordered mussels. It wasn't 500g and came with no sauce at all. My steak was cold and had to be re-heated. it was awful. The rocket salad had died several days previously. The wine bottle was duped on the table unopened. I asked to speak to the manager. There was none on duty so I had to complain the a senior waiter. The previous evening we had been to Dine enough said
