10/10I'm often at the Southbank Centre but never tried Skylon before. Restaurants in concert venues aren't often great. But this was. Wide ranging and appealing menu. I had the crab starter and it was as fresh as any I've had. The steak tartare was a beautiful piece of fillet steak handcut and perfectly seasoned. Would definitely recommend.

6.5/10Service could be better, had to ask for drinks list, water wasn't refilled until we asked for it. The resturant was almost empty except for 5 couples, so no excuse for staff not to be available, no excuse for them to stand around chatting to each other

4.5/10The staff are quite friendly, attentive and polite. The food were served in very good time. However, the food we had were disappointing - just lacking in flavours and creativity. They are not worth the price - unfortunately, there are many other places in London with less pricey food but better quality. The view of the Thames and the city was very good - but the ambience and atmosphere inside is underwhelming.

8/10Overall a very enjoyable visit. However 2 of the main courses we're on the cold side which I reported on leaving and was told this would be passed on to the kitchen. I'd have expected a bit more of a reaction.. Up your game a bit and I'll be back

7.5/10The view is of course breath taking but we're very disappointed with the food... The steak tartare was very nice but the cockle linguine was very average as was the curry. The fish pies was band and a tiny, tiny portion. Menu options very unimaginative. Expected better from a D & D restaurant and much better quality when we have eaten there in the past. Would not go back and would not recommend. Better to go to po t de la tour or bluebird if eating with this group, menu and food quality better.

8.5/10Comfortable seating with a lovely view of the Southbank. Attentive staff - Maria - thoughtful and engaging, Felix - laid back with a great knowledge of the menu and Robin - generous to a fault. All were extremely friendly and attentive. Whilst we ate and chatted til closing, we did not feel rushed. The food choices were adequate, tasty and freshly prepared. I had a Mutton curry which was rather mild for my taste but the meat was tender. My partner had a Cheese mash pie with a nicely scorched, crunchy topping which she seemed to enjoy. Fairly priced, especially considering the grand location. Book wisely ie outside of The Royal Festival 'show time' as can be crowded. Would visit again.

7/10They added a tip of £13.50! Come on! £13.50 for doing your job! Taking an order and delivering food. They also added a charity £1. I asked for both to be taken off. But this made my partner feel awkward. So they spoiled the night. Unless this is my fault & I should have been blackmailed into paying up to save causing tension. Was that their intention by doing it? Show RESPECT. A customer decides on a Tip. Not you. Arrogance!! Not happy. Plus, food could have been warmer.

7/10Our waiter wad great, tried really hard. But it always a bit understaffed. The fishcake has changed and is not so interesting. Bland. No veggies but pickled cucumber and a v bland sauce! Said mackerel sauce but did not taste of anything. Nice veggies. Good burger.

6.5/10I had a fishcake and my guest had a fish pie. The pie had far too much potato and too little filling and the fishcake was just bland. The creamed spinach we ordered as a side dish was far too sloppy, although the fries I ordered were very good. It is a shame the food is not more interesting, because the venue, the river view and the service are all wonderful.

6.5/10While the food was good, the service was very inconsistent and patchy. It took ages to order drinks and then once we’d ordered everything, the food took ages to arrive. We were going today the theatre afterwards and had to rush our food and dash so we didn’t miss the show.

5.5/10The food wasn’t hot when it arrived. The waitress, who was very good, apologised and took it back - but it wasn’t any warmer when it was brought back. The sommelier spilled my wine on my lap. The ambience feels very corporate now. Has it been bought by a chain? Overall, disappointing.

10/10Skylon is my go to and great place to meet with friends as central to stations, I have used this place for 5 years and never lets me down. Great views at night of Thames. Engaging always positive staff. Bar staff always produce the best all important range of martinis.

5.5/10Staff was nice and good ambiance, we could hear ourselves talking. However service was slow, beetroot place came when we finished our cooked meal despite querying it. Drinks came after our mains were on the table Quantity is what was the most shocking experience the table. Ordered bread and we got a bread roll?!, mash was pork chop was a table spoon of mash hidden under the meat, the backlova and the tarte tatin were taster size. It was so ridiculous! Large table behind us order bread and laughed at what they received. The one next too us had the mushroom arancini and advised against ad they only got 3 little one on the plate and thought it was a rip off so we didnt order it after they shown us what they received. Won't come back and won't recommend. Not worth the price at all

10/10Good selection of food on super environment. We ordered two Chicken pies, when we tried them they were cold. When we complained they took them away brought hot ones and did not charge us. Service quality is based on how you one perform when one gets something wrong. Well done!

2.5/10Great view. However, the space felt soulless. The food was mediocre to say the least: pumpkin soup that was bland, lemon sole dripping in butter and overcooked and £32!!!! Cocktails were overcharged by £1 each and extra £1 for charity but not mentioned/discussed. Service was basic & robotic (no guest engagement). A disappointment.

8.5/10Met up with a group of friends at the Skylon restaurant last week. Most of us chose from the lunch menu. We all agreed that our food was delicious. Great value taking into consideration location, by the Thames, near Waterloo bridge. The staff were super - attentive without being pushy. We had a super afternoon and hope to visit again very soon.
