Food was lovely good selection, £28 allowance gave a lot of choice Staff were very friendly
Excellent
Food was excellent quality and value. Steak was cooked to perfection.
We had afternoon tea it was superb .our waiter was Christian he was so kind and helpful nothing was any trouble to him
Food very good beds comfortable hotel bars and public & quiet areas all very good golf courses excellent. Staff training not of high enough standard. For a real 4star experience a huge improvement in staff quality is required. We are unlikely to return as a consequence of current staff quality
We enjoyed an afternoon tea in Dukes. The waiter in particular should be praised - he was attentive without being intrusive. Would probably try the more savoury option next time.
Lovely afternoon tea. Good food and good service.
Absolutely excellent experience, served by Ethan from the brasserie, really professional approach and really friendly. The staff at Slaley hall made mine and my partner's time there a great laugh and I'll definitely be booking up again!
Slightly disappointed as steak was no longer Available on set price menu so it was £26 for an a la carte one and our spend was £28 allowance
Very nice and friendly staff
Excellent service from Adam we are really enjoy it !!!
First morning breakfast hot items only luke warm not nice when eating bacon and eggs. Tables left uncleared Had to ask for milk and sweetners as none brought to the table. 1st night dinner, mains were delivered to our table before we had finished our starters. Soup was very bland and small portions even though the food was expensive. Steak knives were not brought with the meal so had to wait which took 5 minutes and food was getting cool.. 2nd day breakfast food much warmer as I had informed the restaurant manager the previous evening about the problem. Again no sweetners or milk on the table. Dishes left uncleared between courses, so table full of used dishes. 2nd evening dinner was a nightmare,. Steak sent back twice as could not cut it even with a steak knife. So I had no main meal at all as by the time they had cooked the 2nd steak the rest of our party had been waiting for an hour for their desserts. Soup was served without a spoon. I did speak with the manager who apologised and refunded my money. Again there were dirty glasses and empty bottles on the table that should have been cleared, but very kindly the manager cleared the table. From ordering a starter it took 40 minutes and from the starter to the mains was 1 hour 15 minutes and they had not even shown us the dessert menu by the time the manager came. Again he brought us the menu and took our order. This is the 2nd time we have visited Slaley Hall and each time the food has been a massive disappointment and that is such a shame because it is a lovely hotel, but I feel the food would be cheaper and better in the local pub or restaurant On the positive side the table and time I requested was adhered to. Thankyou
Really good food and service, would definitely recommend. Only complaint would be the olive bread starter was £4 for a wedge of stale bread. Why bother even putting it on the menu. Embarrassed for the chef to have that as a starter.
The staff were all helpful and professional the food was well presented and very tasty fab
The lamb dish was small but tasty
Everything was first class.service excellent food quality excellent especially ginger flavoured creme brûlée which was to die for
Everything went well for us. Service good if not novice. You have to get experience. Pleased to see all the young staff helped. Food very nice. Good experience.
Booking reservation at 7pm, was greeted and taken to table as soon as we arrived. Staff very friendly gave us information on chef's special soup and alternative dish to steak t-bone. Waited 20 minutes before waiter came to take order for food and drinks. Took another 10 minutes for drinks to arrive, white wine and shandy and water fir the table. Starter followed shortly after. My husband ordered the chef's soup which was hot and creamy. My dish was fried whitebait it could have been a little more fried and crispy for me but fine nontheless. The mains were pork belly and chargrilled chicken with macaroni cheese both amazing, flavours tasty and meat juicy. Service was a little slow to start, but overall a lovely experience.
Lovely afternoon tea, lots of choice and lots of food brought a box home.Really nice table in the Dukes very comfortable.
Excellent service, we went for Afternoon Tea and lovely to see they do a savory option. Which was better value than the tradition one
