Arrived at Spirit of India early 1755hrs, informed chirpy chap on entry that we had a table booked but were early, invited to sit wherever we wanted, as we were the only customers, drinks menu on table, no cutlery or napkins, after 10 mins waiter took drinks order, noticed there were no cutlery, said he would return with some very shortly, ordered poppadom's, 2 plain 2 spicy, drinks arrived after 5 mins, poppadom's 5 mins after that, no side plates to eat poppadom's, still no napkins, spicy poppadom's were nice and crispy, plain ones were crispy also. Poppadom's finished, waiter finally gave us menus to order starters & mains, 1835hrs, now been in restaurant 40 mins, and wondering weather to leave or bear with it, orders taken at 1845hrs, Mixed platter for 2, onion bhaji & lamb tikka, - Salmon tikka main, lamb balti, lamb chatt kufti massalla, bombay potato, naan & roti. Starters arrived at table at 1900hrs, still no napkins, food was good, nothing special. Mains arrives with fresh cutlery, still no napkins at 1925hrs, Salmon tikka was good, lamb balti was nice, however Lamb Chatt Kufti Massala was missing the roasted potato balls, at this point I was past the point of caring, we had been in the establishment 90mins, so ate what was served up, could not see the point to complain. Booked through The Fork and was due £20.00 off from Yums collected, however when we requested the bill, this had not been deducted, this was rectified before paying. Food was average, service was poor, stains on table clothes, no napkins, I can understand why the restaurant was empty, I personally would not use again in a hurry.

We booked our table early so restaurant was quiet but very welcoming. Menu was good, service was friendly and attentive. Food was lovely and hot and everything tasted great! Will return, thank you.
