6.5/10Food below expectations given reviews we had read. Food very create overall. Standouts were a very dry pork chop and a strange Duck dish. Service abrupt. Better options nearby.

9/10We went for the Valentine's menu with a wine pairing and had a lovely evening. The food isn't revolutionary in terms of flavour or concept; however, the restaurant excels in simple food done well. There were a couple of minor mishaps with the food, which was dealt with swiftly and efficiently, demonstrating the staff's professionalism and dedication to ensuring their clientele enjoy a relaxed dining experience. Overall, the ambience was warm and cosy, and the staff was super friendly and attentive, which really made the whole evening.

8.5/10Lovely client lunch at Sussex today. Excellent value for money with the short set lunch menu with brilliant service in a lovely setting. Highly recommended.

4.5/10Incredibly shocked that the Venus price cauliflower plate at £18! Its size is very decent and taste very average but they say it is a main dish! Our overall experience was nice but I can’t recommend this restaurant after I complain about this unfair pricing for a veggie like cauliflower

8/10On point cooking with well sourced ingredients. Nice line in game if that’s your thing and interesting British wines. Ask for a table by the window otherwise it’s a bit dark.

Went for a valentine's day dinner with my partner. Really lovely atmosphere, we had a great corner sofa table which was romantic and beautifully set. Service was good despite being a bit busy! Food was okay, valentine's menu looked very exciting but was slightly disappointed with some of dishes. Some were luke warm instead of hot, portions were on the smaller size, and in general over priced. But the wine was lovely and the decor and the atmosphere too.

10/10Really enjoyed our cosy relaxed lunch in this lovely comfortable restaurant, close to Soho Square. Particularly appreciated the very friendly service from a manager who clearly passionately cares about following the 'farm to fork' concept and served fantastic pork from their farm in West Sussex plus english wine.

10/10We had an all too brief but very delicious time at The Sussex Bar & Restaurant on Friday evening. With only time for a cocktail and one course we decided to try a few of the starters. The leek heart, the burrata and the fishcake were all beautifully presented and really tasty. We also tried pecorino and truffle potatoes. Crispy, fluffy and irresistible. The team were friendly and efficient. The low lighting created a cosy and classy atmosphere. We will return to try more of the menu soon.

9/10The Cod Wellington was great! And the eclair was something I've never tried before. Well made. Appreciate the water service. I was very thirsty all day. The atmosphere was a bit dark for me but for people who aren't eating alone, it must feel cozy.

9.5/10I went here to meet a friend on a Friday afternoon not long before Christmas. The food was excellent traditional British fare prepared in a modern style, the staff were very warm and welcoming and the ambience was just right - busy enough for an atmosphere, but not too busy. I can warmly recommend The Sussex!

10/10This was another return visit to the Sussex. This is becoming our go to restaurant when we’re in London. Love the food they serve, tasty and locally sourced. Staff are attentive and friendly. Some are starting to remember us - hope that’s a good thing!

9.5/10Loved this new find. It’s cosy & quirky interior. Innovative & delicious cocktails & mocktails - loved the Tea Negroni mocktail. Food was fabulous. We were eating on The Fork Festival promo so was incredible value for such high quality food but I would definitely return even at full price. My only little gripe was the side dishes and jus with our Beef Wellington were served lukewarm even cool maybe as the veg were served on a cold plate and the serving of jus for 2 was small but they were happy to provide more jus and this time warmer on request. I would absolutely recommend and already have to many friends

9.5/10Great food, great quality, well cooked, and well presented. Great wine. Accommodated our group by allowing an extra person (very much appreciated). Service staff seemed very overstretched, which is a shame. 19.00 table, drinks, starters, and mains..sadly by 22.00, we'd run out of time our end for cheese / dessert and asked for the bill. Great place and well worth a visit. Would return when it is less busy.

6/10The place is in central London which is helping if you are doing some shopping Cosy with few tables on the first floor Portion I don’t know if where smaller then expected or they knew we had the offer We had pork chop and it look very small for £26 ( fortunately we had the offer ) few vegetables a bit disappointing for a Sunday roast

Fantastic food, great drinks and impeccable service — what more could we ask for? We’ve been four times in the last couple of months, as it’s such a good experience. The staff are friendly and relaxed, and the farm-to-table concept by the Gladwin Brothers is always a delight. We devoured everything from the starters to the desserts with real gousto, and made many nice new memories. Will be back soon!

10/10The restaurant is cosy yet chic, and the food was absolutely incredible. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, particularly Ollie who told us about the sustainability menu concept, and advised us on food and wines. We will definitely be back - and would recommend to everyone!
